Ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, positive energy, proactive selfmotivation, technology proficiency, Class A CDL capability, and a practical willingness to support field operations when needed. Position Summary The Transport Division Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the transportation division, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant transportation services. This position supervises drivers and related team members, coordinates equipment and schedules, supports DOT and safety compliance, and helps improve service reliability, productivity, and team performance. This role requires a hands-on, solutions-focused leader who communicates clearly, works well with others, maintains a positive and professional approach, thinks creatively, and is not afraid to get involved in the field when needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervise, coach, and support transportation personnel, including CDL drivers and support staff. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, state, local, and company transportation requirements. Monitor driver qualifications, hours of service, ELD use, vehicle inspection records, safety documentation, and driver performance. Coordinate daily transportation schedules, equipment assignments, route needs, and service priorities. Respond to operational challenges, service disruptions, employee questions, vehicle issues, and customerrelated service needs. Conduct driver coaching, training, performance feedback, and corrective action when appropriate. Assist with accident/incident investigations, rootcause reviews, safety followup, and corrective action implementation. Work closely with maintenance personnel to support fleet readiness, reduce downtime, and address equipment concerns. Use transportation software, GPS/fleet systems, ELD platforms, mobile applications, Microsoft Office tools, and other technology to manage operations and reporting. Identify practical ways to improve routing, scheduling, communication, safety, documentation, and overall division performance. Maintain accurate records, reports, checklists, inspection files, personnel documentation, and operating notes. Support budgeting, staffing, planning, employee development, process improvement, and departmentlevel goals as assigned. Lead by example with a strong work ethic, professional conduct, positive attitude, and willingness to assist directly in the field when operationally necessary. Required Qualifications Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Strong working knowledge of DOT regulations, FMCSA requirements, driver qualification files, hoursofservice compliance, vehicle inspection practices, and transportation safety expectations. Transportation, logistics, trucking, fleet, operations, sanitation, waste/recycling, construction, or related field experience. Prior supervisory, lead, dispatch, route management, training, or operational leadership experience preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly with drivers, management, maintenance, customers, vendors, and regulatory contacts. Technology proficient, including comfort with ELD systems, GPS/fleet software, mobile apps, email, spreadsheets, and basic reporting tools. Valid medical certification and ability to meet company driving and insurance requirements. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced, fieldoriented operating environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience in waste management, recycling, sanitation, transfer, disposal, trucking, heavy equipment, or municipal service operations. Knowledge of fleet maintenance coordination, pretrip/posttrip processes, and equipment readiness expectations. Experience with route optimization, dispatch systems, safety audits, driver training, or compliance documentation. Bilingual communication skills are a plus. Physical and Work Environment Requirements Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and operating conditions. Ability to walk, climb, bend, stand, operate equipment/vehicles as needed, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to respond to early morning, late day, emergency, weekend, or afterhours operational needs when required. Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles and comply with all company safety expectations. Compensation and Benefits Hourly pay range: $38.00 $42.00 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and fit for the role.
