Job Summary:
Provide transportation and support services to those who are living with vision loss or other disabilities. This includes transportation to and from appointments, door to door escort services for appointments, and recruiting and training volunteers to provide mail reading and light in home repairs.
Responsibilities:
- Administers the transportation and support services.
- Monitors the transportation needs of clients.
- Recruits, trains and supervises volunteers for clients in the community.
- Maintain all database and statistical information needed for reporting.
- Works with other department personnel to provide on-site transportation.
- Ability to perform life-skills education to the community.
- Ability to gather community resources and make referrals.
- Organization a must.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
Valid driver's license required. Ability to operate agency vehicle safely. Interpersonal skills in dealing with clients, family members, fellow staff members and other professionals. Skill in computer use and database management. Writing and critical thinking skills. Commitment to the provision of comprehensive services of high quality to persons who are blind or visually impaired.
Physical Needs for job:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
