Senior Transit Operator Hourly Rate Range:
$20 - $22
Location:
Culpeper, Virginia Encompass Community Supports, formerly known as Rappahannock Rapidan Community Services (RRCS) is hiring Senior Transit Operator. Encompass Community Supports is a Virginia State community services organization that improves the quality of life in Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, Orange, and Rappahannock Counties by providing comprehensive mental health, substance use, developmental disability, housing, children's, and aging services. Our Senior Transit Operator assists in overseeing operations of the fleet of vans in the Transportation Services Department; work is performed under regular supervision.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintains spreadsheets on all vehicle maintenance to include vehicle maintenance, vendor monthly, tire inventory, bi-weekly/weekly mileage report, & monthly DRPT mileage report. Maintains all fleet vehicles that are on-site and off-site/different locations. Schedule vehicles at the shop when maintenance or services are needed. Ensure that all the maintenance is up to date on all fleet inventory. Provides back-up for the transit department and driving if we have high volume of callouts or short on staff. Responsible for accident forms/FTA forms and scheduling vehicles for estimates of any damage of the vans. Responsible for sending accident forms to upper management. Responsible for all recalls. Responsible for checking in new leased/Enterprise vehicles when they arrive. Responsible for making sure all Pre-trips are completed and accurate. Review monthly billing statement. Responsible for fire extinguishers when time to be serviced yearly. Serves as the agencies PASS/Wheelchair/LogistiCare trainer. Responsible for the inventory of supplies. Provides back-up to Transportation Services Supervisor in day-to-day operational requirements including supervising subordinate staff to include processing staff timesheets. Operates mobile radios in compliance with FCC and Agency guidelines. Provides back up to the transit dispatcher to include data entry, answering phones, goes into the system and does cancellations, and printing daily manifests. Completes Agency required training.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Thorough knowledge of regions, traffic rules and regulations. Ability to operate passenger vehicles and related equipment safely and efficiently. Ability to remain alert and to remain calm during periods of stress. Ability to keep records and prepare reports. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, associates and the public. Knowledge of MS Office, to include Word and Excel.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent; At least 1 year experience operating passenger vehicles or similar equipment and in dealing with the public. Valid Virginia driver's license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
