Job Description
About FAST Enterprises FAST Enterprises is an established Canadian company specializing in the delivery, installation, relocation, servicing and storage of commercial fitness equipment. We work with major fitness clubs, equipment manufacturers and commercial customers across Ontario and throughout Canada. Our warehouse operations are central to our business. We handle everything from individual replacement parts to truckloads of commercial treadmills, strength machines and other heavy equipment. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Warehouse & Inventory Lead who can take ownership of day-to-day operations at our two Concord facilities. This is a working lead position, not a desk-based management role. You'll work physically in the warehouse while also being responsible for inventory accuracy, equipment control, organization and daily operational readiness. What You'll Be Responsible For Warehouse Operations & Inventory Control Manage day-to-day warehouse activities across two nearby facilities. Receive, unload, inspect and accurately record incoming equipment and shipments. Verify equipment quantities, model numbers, serial numbers and condition against shipping documentation. Immediately identify and report shortages, freight damage, discrepancies and missing components. Maintain accurate, up-to-date inventory and equipment-location records. Organize warehouse racks, storage areas and project staging zones. Identify obsolete, unidentified or unnecessary inventory and recommend appropriate action. Coordinate incoming freight deliveries and outgoing equipment shipments. Equipment Preparation, Loading & Dispatch Prepare and stage commercial fitness equipment for delivery and installation projects. Verify outgoing equipment against approved job instructions and equipment lists. Ensure the correct equipment, parts, accessories and installation materials are loaded for each job. Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks and material-handling equipment. Load and unload trucks and trailers, using proper lifting, load protection and securement procedures. Assist with basic assembly, inspection and preparation of fitness equipment when required. Tools & Company Equipment Accountability Maintain accurate inventory records for company tools, dollies, carts and specialized handling equipment. Implement and maintain an organized tool sign-out and return process for field crews. Track which employee or crew has responsibility for issued equipment. Inspect returned tools and equipment for completeness, condition and damage. Identify missing or overdue items and promptly report unresolved discrepancies. Conduct regular physical inventory checks and reconciliations. Organization, Planning & Communication Maintain clean, safe, efficient and organized warehouse facilities. Coordinate daily priorities with Operations, Scheduling and field crews. Anticipate upcoming project needs and ensure equipment and materials are ready on time. Manage assigned work independently, including follow-up on incomplete tasks. Identify operational problems and recommend practical solutions. Provide clear updates on completed work, inventory discrepancies, outstanding issues and required supplies. Help continuously improve our warehouse procedures and inventory-control systems.
What We're Looking For Required:
At least 3 years of relevant warehouse, shipping/receiving, inventory-control or equipment-handling experience. Demonstrated ability to organize and manage warehouse activities independently. Practical experience operating forklifts and other warehouse handling equipment, with appropriate training and competency. Experience loading and unloading trucks and trailers safely. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate inventory and documentation. Comfortable using computers, spreadsheets and digital inventory systems. Mechanical aptitude and confidence using hand and power tools. Valid Ontario driver's licence and an acceptable driving record for assigned driving duties. Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with office staff and field crews. Ability to perform hands-on physical work and handle heavy equipment safely using proper lifting equipment and team assistance.
Strong Assets:
Experience as a warehouse lead, inventory controller or shipping/receiving coordinator. Experience handling commercial fitness equipment, machinery, construction equipment or other large assets. Experience managing tools or equipment issued to field technicians or construction crews. Familiarity with Jobber or similar job-management software. Experience planning warehouse layouts and improving inventory accuracy. Ability to identify and resolve shipping or inventory discrepancies before they affect customers. The Person Who Will Succeed Here We value people who take genuine ownership of their responsibilities. The right person doesn't need constant reminders to finish assigned work. They notice when something is wrong, investigate it and communicate what needs to be done. They understand that an incorrectly loaded machine, an undocumented shipment or a missing tool can create serious problems for customers and coworkers. They are organized, dependable, practical and willing to get their hands dirty. Most importantly, they take pride in completing work correctly and seeing tasks through to completion. What We Offer Full-time, permanent employment. $25-$29 per hour, based on qualifications and demonstrated experience. Consistent work in a specialized technical industry. A varied, hands-on role with meaningful operational responsibility. Opportunity to improve and help shape our warehouse systems and procedures. Supportive office and field teams. How to Apply Please submit your resume and briefly describe: Your relevant warehouse and inventory-control experience. Your experience with forklifts, truck loading and material handling. An example of a warehouse process, inventory system or workplace organization improvement you have personally implemented. We are particularly interested in applicants who can demonstrate that they have previously taken responsibility for the accuracy and organization of a warehouse operation.
