The Mousepad Company

Warehouse Floor Lead

Job Description

Warehouse Floor Lead The Mousepad Company Costa Mesa, CA Job Details Full-time $24 - $26 an hour 12 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Maintaining an organized workspace Packing Customer service Warehouse cleanliness Crew management Full Job Description We print and ship custom mousepads out of a small warehouse in Costa Mesa. Two people run the press and the packing line, and they're good at it. What nobody owns yet is the messy stuff: the order that's been sitting 12 days, the Amazon shipment that's stuck, the customer-service request nobody looked up, the workbench that's been "temporary" for three weeks. That's the job. You're the person who makes sure nothing sits — orders or clutter. What you'd actually do Work the floor screen (our own software — we'll teach you). Old order, missing pad, stuck Amazon box — you chase it down and get it out the door. Be the warehouse contact for customer service. They say "expedite this" or "reprint that" — you look it up and handle it, so it doesn't wait for the owner. Press and pack alongside the crew when that's the most useful thing. Most days it will be — this is a hands-on job, not a clipboard job. Own how the building looks. Things put away, surfaces clear, supplies where they belong — and when something doesn't have a home, you decide where it lives and make it stick. Own returns, end-of-day closing, and a simple weekly cleaning plan. Hold the bar every day. Our crew works hard, but "good enough" creeps in when nobody's watching. You're the person who catches the half-done job and has it redone right — same day, no drama. When you solve a problem twice, write it down as a short checklist so it stays solved. How we work We care about results, not clock-watching. If you want to knock out the morning, leave, and come back to finish later — fine, as long as your pile is handled. What matters is that late orders go to zero and the shop stays tight on your watch. Weekday mornings are the important overlap; the rest is flexible. What this is not Not a desk job. Not a supervisor title with a big crew. Not answering every customer email. It's a working lead role: hands on the product most of the day, plus ownership of everything that would otherwise fall through the cracks. Pay and growth $24-$26/hr to start, based on what you bring. We're a small company that's growing — the person who owns this well ends up running more of the building, and pay follows. Hours are full-time now while we're busy (easily for the next 5 months), but when we're slow it might be closer to 30 hours. You're a fit if You notice the thing that's been sitting there and it bugs you. A messy shelf actually bothers you, and you fix it instead of walking past it. You're comfortable telling someone to redo a sloppy job — friendly, but you don't let it slide. You're comfortable with your hands — press machines, boxes, a tape gun, occasional fixing. You can read a screen, look up an order, and write a short checklist. You don't wait to be asked.
