This position provides day-to-day direction to a small team while actively participating in warehouse and production operations. The Team Lead is responsible for helping ensure that work is completed safely, efficiently, accurately, and on schedule while maintaining company standards for safety, quality, inventory control, and productivity. This position also serves as the primary point of contact for operational issues that arise during second shift and communicates shift results and concerns to the Warehouse Manager. Responsibilities Leadership & Team Coordination Lead and provide day-to-day direction to second-shift warehouse and production employees. Assign work and help establish priorities based on production and shipping requirements. Work alongside the team and provide hands-on support as needed. Train and coach employees on proper procedures, safety, quality, and productivity expectations. Monitor attendance and employee performance and communicate concerns to the Warehouse Manager. Promote teamwork, accountability, and effective communication. Communicate shift activities, production status, operational issues, and employee concerns to management. Safety & Compliance Enforce company safety policies and help maintain a safe working environment. Ensure employees follow established safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE). Conduct routine inspections and address or report unsafe conditions. Promptly report accidents, injuries, equipment damage, and other safety concerns. Maintain good housekeeping and organization throughout warehouse and production areas. Warehouse, Production & Inventory Operations Coordinate daily warehouse and production activities to meet production and shipping schedules. Participate in and oversee receiving, storage, material movement, order preparation, and shipment of products. Assist with equipment setup, production processes, material handling, and other operational tasks as needed. Conduct cycle counts, support inventory audits, and investigate inventory discrepancies. Monitor workflow and productivity and adjust daily work priorities as necessary. Help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, organization, quality, and workflow. Support continuous improvement initiatives designed to increase productivity and reduce waste. Quality Control & Shipping Perform and oversee product inspections to ensure company quality standards are met. Identify, quarantine, and properly communicate non-conforming materials or products. Verify product quantities and accuracy prior to shipment. Ensure freight documentation is complete and accurate, including Bills of Lading, packing slips, and related records. Equipment & Facility Ensure forklifts, material-handling equipment, and other warehouse equipment are operated safely. Coordinate routine equipment inspections and identify maintenance needs. Promptly report equipment or facility problems to management. Assist in maintaining an organized, clean, and efficient warehouse and production environment. Assign work and help establish priorities based on production and shipping requirements. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. 2-3 years of experience in warehouse, manufacturing, production, or distribution preferred. Previous team lead or supervisory experience preferred. Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and inventory management systems. Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Ability to prioritize work and provide direction to others. Ability to work independently and make sound day-to-day operational decisions. Dependable and able to work effectively with limited direct supervision during second shift. Physical Requirements Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to bend, reach, climb, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift. Ability to safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment. Ability to work in varying warehouse and manufacturing conditions. Additional Responsibilities Maintain a professional and respectful working relationship with employees, customers, vendors, and visitors. Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for warehouse and production activities during second shift. Communicate significant operational, quality, safety, equipment, or personnel issues to the Warehouse Manager. Pay:
$24.00 - $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
