In this role, you will balance physical material handling with team coordination, employee training, and process compliance. This is not a Hi-lo driving position. You will review daily priorities with management, assign tasks to Material Handlers, and ensure all inbound and outbound shipments are processed safely, accurately, and on time.

Key ResponsibilitiesShift Leadership & Team Coordination Daily Workflow:

Review shift priorities with the Warehouse Manager and assign tasks to Material Handlers based on scheduled pickups and available staffing.

Hands-On Support:

Work on the floor alongside the team, providing clear direction when production schedules or dock conditions change.

Training & Coaching:

Onboard and train employees on work instructions, scanning protocols, labeling, and safe forklift operation.

Performance Tracking:

Monitor team progress and report attendance, conduct, or performance concerns directly to management.

Receiving & Material Control Inbound Verification:

Verify all incoming inventory and documentation match Transpak part numbers, quantities, and supplier details.

Quality Inspections:

Inspect packages for visible damage or contamination; immediately segregate affected material and notify Quality teams.

System Scanning:

Ensure all material receipts are scanned into the system promptly, escalating any missing or incorrect tracking data.

Inventory Control:

Direct materials to correct storage or staging areas using accurate FIFO, lot control, and inventory traceability.

Shipping & Order Verification Staging Logistics:

Organize daily shipping orders according to customer priority, carrier pickup times, and trailer availability.

Final Inspections:

Physically verify each skid, container, destination label, and barcode scan before loading any trucks.

Load Security:

Ensure all outgoing loads are properly wrapped, covered, banded, and secured to prevent transit damage.

Documentation:

Verify shipping paperwork for accuracy, record trailer seal numbers, and secure driver signatures on Bills of Lading (BOL).

Safety, Housekeeping & Security Dock Upkeep:

Coordinate daily housekeeping for dock wells, staging lanes, and equipment charging stations.

Equipment Safety:

Inspect forklifts, pallet jacks, and dock doors daily; remove unsafe equipment from service and notify management immediately.

Visitor Controls:

Monitor truck drivers and visitors in shipping areas to ensure strict compliance with company safety and security rules. Decision Authority & Escalation LimitsWhat You Can Do on the

Floor:

Adjust daily tasks among team members to keep the workflow moving efficiently. Stop work, loading, or unloading immediately if you observe a safety hazard, quality issue, or severe paperwork mismatch.

What Requires Management Approval:

You cannot independently issue formal employee discipline, change inventory records, alter customer requirements, or modify company policy.

Required Qualifications & Skills Education:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

Experience in a high-volume warehouse, shipping/receiving dock, or automotive supplier environment.

Leadership:

Prior experience in a lead role or a proven ability to train employees and coordinate daily team workloads.

Certifications:

Current company-approved forklift/Hi-Lo license, or the ability to pass certification before operating equipment.

Technical Skills:

Basic computer skills (email, data entry) and experience operating handheld barcode scanners and inventory systems.

Logistics Knowledge:

Understanding of shipping documentation, trailer verification procedures, and Bills of Lading (BOL).

Physical Demands:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, operate heavy material handling equipment, and lift within company safety limits.

Pay:

$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
