GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The purpose of the Shipping Lead is to assign tasks and be the main contact for the department, insure we are packing and shipping the correct product to our customers in safe and professional manner. Maintaining packing materials, equipment, accounting issues, maintenance logs, sign in sheets, rosters and matrixes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Generate pick list thru (allocations) throughout the day to maximize shipments Make sure all those processing pick lists are aware of 1) Terms (accounting terms), 2) Ship Via (collect-prepaid-add), 3) Notes on pick list that need attention, example: Ship Complete, Contact carrier information, special labeling, taxable shipment, international dollar values, etc. With pick list when unit is packed, verify part number and serial number by matching pick list to carton box label. This is a must! Enter weights, dimensions and pieces onto pick list as well as which carrier will be used if BESTWAY is the Ship via. Enter all required fields into ERPLn, 1) Total Weight, 2) Carrier Pro Number which is "number of pcs or pallets" 3) Tracking Number, 4) Freight on SO if applicable, 5) Must change carrier if using different one then specified, but approved by Sales and documented on the pick list by the shipping processor Stack units onto pallets where applicable, using straps, stretch wrap and necessary do not stack labels Communicate, correspond and provide ground, LTL and international carriers with necessary documents to schedule the pickup of shipments, not excluding international invoices and/or Shippers Letter of Instructions Utilize customer portals, where applicable, to schedule shipment Communicate and be respectful to any outside department requirements with promptness and clarity Generate carrier shipping labels (FEDX, UPS or BOL), global labels and customer specific labels Maintain excel document with accounting holds, freight terms, including, ship completes and NRE charges and credit cards Verifying daily pick lists freight is added, confirmed and check marked, and international or trucker pick up receipts are attached when carrier picks up. Following morning, paperwork is brought to accounting Assist in data entry and the cross training of data entry Assist in packing and the cross training of packing & creating molds and pallet building. Reference material instructions (MI's) Maintain all required supplies associated with the packing of finished products and spare parts via spreadsheet to purchasing Maintain/verify all maintenance logs (hoist and packing machines) and visitor sign in sheets, are performed daily & equipment is ready start of day Maintain Training Matrix and Evacuation Roster Maintain packing Material Instructions (MI's) are accurate and followed only deviated when authorized by Management Adhere to all Safety (material out of blue aisles and neatly stacked, no pink foam on gravity racks), Quality (units packed to company standards), Environment (recycling all generated paper, cardboard, etc.) Security and Employee Handbook regulations (wearing badges, safety glasses, face masks and steel toe shoes, etc.)

EXPERIENCE
One to three years of related experience (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience).
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or equivalent.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Minimum or Basic skills: Ability to log in, log out, and easily navigate through MS Windows-based interface.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Basic Skills:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Familiarity with US export Tariff Sch B Hoist and Forklift certification

SALARY RANGE
The starting hourly rate for the role is between USD $20.00 to $24.00. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for variable bonus programs and benefits.
