Pallet Maker

POSITION SUMMARY

The Pallet Maker is responsible for building, repairing, wrapping, and preparing pallets for storage, shipping, receiving, and customer orders. The employee must ensure pallets are stable, properly assembled, safely handled, and ready for warehouse operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Build pallets according to warehouse and customer requirements. Select the correct pallet size and condition for the product. Inspect pallets for broken, damaged, or unsafe boards before use. Repair or replace damaged pallets when authorized. Stack cartons/products securely and evenly on pallets. Ensure products do not extend beyond the pallet unless specifically authorized. Properly wrap and secure completed pallets. Apply labels, shipping marks, or other required identification. Keep pallet-building and staging areas clean and organized. Move pallets safely using approved equipment when trained and authorized. Report damaged products, pallets, or unsafe conditions to the Team Lead or Supervisor. Follow all warehouse safety procedures, PPE requirements, and customer requirements. Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Wear required PPE, including a high-visibility safety vest and appropriate safety footwear. Use proper lifting and material-handling techniques. Do not use damaged or unstable pallets. Do not stand under or near unstable loads. Follow forklift and powered equipment safety rules. Only operate forklifts or other powered equipment if properly trained and authorized. Report injuries, accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions immediately.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials as required by the position. Ability to bend, reach, squat, and work around pallets and warehouse equipment. Ability to safely perform repetitive warehouse tasks.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

The Pallet Maker is expected to work safely, accurately, efficiently, and as part of the warehouse team while maintaining product quality and following company and customer requirements.

Pay:

$18.00 - $19.00 per hour
