GENERAL DESCRIPTION

: Performs a variety of skilled maintenance or construction activities of average difficulty in the operation of the City's public works. Supervised by Public Works Director with work assigned verbally or in writing, and is reviewed through observation and written reports. Also, performs other related work as needed or requested.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Performs semi-skilled and manual labor to maintain various grounds, streets, and rights-of-way. Operates and maintains hand and power tools and various equipment.

Operates safety equipment:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

• Knowledge of landscape maintenance. Knowledge of tools and equipment to do related work. Knowledge of grounds keeping practices. Ability to perform heavy manual labor under various weather conditions. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Skill in the operation and preventative maintenance of equipment and related tools. Education and Experience
• High school graduation or possession of an acceptable equivalent diploma. Licenses, Certifications or Registrations
• Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License. Essential Physical Skills
• Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction), acceptable hearing (with or without hearing aid), Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, walking, standing, kneeling, bending, stooping.

Operating equipment. Driving.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

• Works outside in various weather conditions.

Chemicals (insecticides and herbicides), cleaning supplies. Uneven surfaces. Around and with moving vehicles. In and around water and waste water plants and transmission lines.
