Job Description

Warehouse & Procurement Specialist Responsibilities:
Goods Receiving:
Organize incoming shipments and prioritize processing to ensure inventory is received in the proper order. Unpack incoming stock shipments and verify part numbers, quantities, and condition against receiving documentation. Perform quality inspections on received materials and identify any damage, shortages, or discrepancies. Label, receive, and physically restock inventory into designated warehouse locations. Process inventory transactions within SAP, including goods receipts, inventory adjustments, and location changes. Stock and organize parts within Kardex shuttles, shelving systems, and pallet rack storage areas. Document and report damaged, incorrect, or incomplete shipments to the Parts Department. Maintain a receiving presence at the dock during normal business hours (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with scheduled lunch break).
Purchasing:
Create, issue, and manage purchase orders in SAP for both stock inventory and customer direct-ship requirements. Monitor open purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery. Communicate supplier delays and updated delivery schedules to customers and internal stakeholders. Perform inventory counts and investigate inventory discrepancies as needed. Maintain inventory records, including adding, modifying, and removing bin locations within SAP. Monitor inventory levels of warehouse packaging materials and operating supplies, replenishing stock as necessary.
Warehouse & Shipping Support:
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including your office area, receiving docks, warehouse aisles, storage racks, and outside the spare parts dock and walkways. Disassemble and properly dispose of shipping materials, pallets, and wooden crates, recycling whenever possible. Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move, transport, and store inventory. Provide shipping support during peak workloads by processing shipments through UPS and FedEx systems. Assist with order fulfillment by picking inventory from Kardex systems, shelving, and pallet racks. Support packing operations for customer shipments, including carton packaging, palletizing, and crate preparation.
Requirements:
Strong knowledge in purchasing, procurement, inventory, warehouse operations or related supply chain functions. Hands-on experience with SAP or similar ERP systems are preferred. Experience creating and managing purchase orders, following with suppliers, monitoring delivery dates and resolving purchasing/inventory discrepancies. Experience with shipping and receiving operations, including physically receiving, inspecting, labeling, storing, picking, packing and preparing materials for shipment. Ability to balance administrative purchasing with physical warehouse activities. Strong attention to detail., organization, communication and follow-up skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team in a professional and safety-focused environment. Ability to perform physical work, including lifting, carrying, bending, and standing for extended periods. Obtain and maintain forklift certification. Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, pallet jacks, and material-handling equipment. Consistently use required personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to understand, follow, and execute written and verbal instructions. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact respectfully and professionally with coworkers, supervisors, vendors, and customers. Ability to read, write, and understand weights, measurements, and dimensions in both imperial and metric units. Practice sound judgment and seek assistance from supervisors or management when necessary. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and OneNote. Experience with SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, UPS WorldShip, or similar ERP and shipping software preferred, or the ability to quickly learn new systems. Working Conditions and Physical Effort
  • Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.
  • Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 75 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job.
  • Work may produce a high level of mental/visual fatigue and frequently performed under pressure.
This requires mental application and attention to details. Mental demands include reading, detailed work, confidentially, problem solving, verbal communication, multiple concurrent tasks, constant interruptions, math, general stress.
Pay:
$27.00 per hour Expected hours: 36.0 - 40.0 per week
