Job Title:
Material Handler Job Description The Material Handler safely operates a forklift to move products between departments and from production to shipping, supporting efficient inventory flow and order fulfillment on first shift. Responsibilities Operate a forklift safely and efficiently to move materials between production, inventory, and shipping areas. Load, unload, and transport product and materials throughout the facility as needed. Support picking activities by locating, retrieving, and staging materials for production and shipping. Handle materials carefully to prevent damage and ensure product quality. Maintain accurate inventory movement by following established procedures and documenting material transfers when required. Organize materials and finished goods in designated areas to support efficient workflow and easy access. Follow all safety guidelines and facility rules while operating forklifts and handling materials. Assist with general material handling tasks such as stacking, palletizing, and preparing items for shipment. Essential Skills Proven forklift operating experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or similar environment. Strong organizational skills to keep materials and inventory well arranged and easy to locate. Ability to perform material handling tasks including loading, unloading, and moving products. Experience with picking and inventory support activities. Commitment to following safety procedures and operating equipment responsibly. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with basic inventory processes and material flow in a manufacturing or distribution environment. Ability to work effectively on a first shift schedule. Reliability and strong attention to detail when handling and moving products. Willingness to learn and participate in training and upskilling opportunities. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility, where work takes place around production, inventory, and shipping operations. Team members operate forklifts and handle materials in an active industrial setting, following safety procedures and working collaboratively with other departments on a first shift schedule. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
