Job Summary:
The primary responsibility of a Yard Associate is to receive, stock, label, and track materials entering and exiting the yard as well as loading customer orders. Learn company products, procedures, culture, and customer service philosophy. Unload and load trucks and/or customers accurately in accordance to invoices. Organize, label, and store materials in accordance with protocols. Safely operate equipment and follow company policies. Accurately record all merchandise returns on a credit memo, put materials in designated return area, and ensure return to vendor. Listen to and assist customers. Maintain a clean working environment. Participate in company functions and meetings. Union membership is required. Must be able to work Saturdays. High School diploma or GED required. Must be able to work in the elements. Physical ability to lift and carry 80+ pounds at times. Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and move freely in the performance of the job. Self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow professionally. Ability to react quickly to problems and respond to them accurately and professionally. Positive and energetic attitude. Pays close attention to detail and a quick learner. Possess a high level of initiative. Able to follow directions and work as a team.
