Job Description

Company Overview North Hills Facility Services is a full-service facility maintenance company with more than 50 years of experience providing janitorial, building maintenance, specialty cleaning, and facility support services throughout the New York metropolitan area. We are seeking a dependable, organized, and mechanically inclined Warehouse & Equipment Maintenance Associate to assist with warehouse operations, equipment maintenance and repair, office cleaning, and upkeep of our company vehicles. Key Responsibilities Warehouse Operations Maintain a clean, safe, and highly organized warehouse Receive, organize, and properly store equipment, supplies, and materials Prepare equipment and supplies for delivery to client locations Load and unload trucks and deliveries Safely operate a Hilo/forklift and pallet stacker Maintain organized inventory of equipment, supplies, tools, and replacement parts Inspect equipment when it is returned from client locations Keep warehouse work areas clean and free of hazards Equipment Maintenance & Repair Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and perform basic repairs on commercial cleaning equipment, including: Commercial vacuums Wet/dry vacuums Floor machines High-speed buffers and burnishers Carpet extractors Other janitorial and facility-maintenance equipment Duties may include replacing or repairing cords, plugs, switches, hoses, belts, wheels, brushes, and other common components. The associate will also be responsible for identifying equipment that cannot be repaired in-house and needs to be sent to an outside repair facility. Office Cleaning Perform routine cleaning of our office, including: Emptying trash and replacing liners Vacuuming carpets Sweeping and mopping hard-surface floors Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms Cleaning the kitchen/breakroom Wiping down surfaces as needed Maintaining an overall clean and presentable office environment Company Vehicle Maintenance The associate will be responsible for basic weekly upkeep of our company vans, including: Starting and driving each van at least once every week Checking the general condition of each vehicle and reporting any noticeable problems Removing trash and unnecessary items from the vehicles Vacuuming and cleaning vehicle interiors Cleaning interior glass and windows Wiping and cleaning dashboards, consoles, doors, and other interior surfaces Keeping cargo areas clean and organized Making sure the vans are maintained in a clean and presentable condition A valid driver's license is required for this position. Qualifications The ideal candidate should have: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability Experience troubleshooting or repairing equipment, tools, appliances, or machinery Experience operating a Hilo/forklift and pallet stacker Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate company vehicles Ability to perform routine commercial and office cleaning Ability to safely lift and move equipment and supplies Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities Dependable attendance and reliable transportation Good communication skills Strong focus on workplace safety Willingness to take ownership of the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse, office, equipment, and company vehicles Previous experience with commercial janitorial equipment is preferred but not required for candidates who demonstrate strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.

$19.00 - $21.00 per hour This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a variety of hands-on responsibilities. We are looking for an individual who takes pride in keeping things clean, organized, maintained, and operational and who can identify and address problems without needing constant supervision.
