We are looking for a yard attendant and kennel tech for our Wyomissing location. Days and hours will vary. All of our positions are part-time and include weekends and holidays as needed. The main responsibilities are to maintain a safe, clean, calm environment for our daycare and boarding dogs. See below for a more detailed description. in this area is critical. If you DO NOT think you can be that flexible, then this is not the facility for you. If you do not have a genuine love of dogs, you should not be here. Keep in mind that we want teammates who are mature enough to understand and accept the responsibilities we place on them. Unfortunately, we CANNOT pay you to sit around and play with cute little puppies all day. You as a team member must clean up after them, feed them, administer medications, and see to their comfort and security, rain, shine, hot, snow or cold. This requires a great deal of hard work and dedication. While working here, you will be exposed to feces, loud noises, cleaning chemicals, a variety of parasites, dawgs jumping on you and pressing close as you stand or walk, and the ever-present risk of being bitten, scratched or knocked off your feet. These are potential hazards you face and accept by working at our facility. With very few exceptions, there are NO specialists here. You will be expected to perform any task we require of you. We will try to make the best use of your skills and experience, but please don't expect to be exempt from the more mundane and unpleasant chores that need to be performed. Floors need to be mopped, rooms and kennels need to be cleaned, garbage cans need to be emptied, poop needs to be picked up from the yards. If you get ill at the idea of cleaning up diarrhea or vomit, then you are at the wrong facility. If you cannot pick up a 40lb bag of food, then this may not be the facility for you. If you are allergic to dog hair or cannot work with cleaning chemicals, this may not be the job for you. We need mature, responsible teammates. You must be reliable, patient, intelligent, able to communicate with others, and capable of independent action. If you must be constantly supervised, or if you cannot find things to do on your own, then you will not fit in well at our facility. We take our profession very seriously.
