Direct, manage, oversee and supervise multiple highly specialized activities and operations of the Solid Waste Department, which may including policy, personnel, program, budget and administration; coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, departments, outside agencies and other stakeholders and provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Director of Solid Waste Management. This is an unclassified at-will position. Job descriptions are intended to present a general list of tasks/duties performed by employees within this job classification. Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis. Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, Operations Management or Environmental Science preferred; and Seven (7) years' experience in residential and commercial refuse collection, clean city operation, landfill and transfer operation, vehicle maintenance operation; public sector operations management, capital project management, or contract compliance preferred; and To include six (6) years of supervisory experience preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire. Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within 6 months from date of hire.
