Under the direction of the Recycling Coordinator, the Recycling Specialist will be responsible for picking up and sorting recycling across campus, baling cardboard and aluminum, and general upkeep of recycling equipment. 60% Collect recycling from bins around campus and transport it to the correct bins. 20% Sort recycling materials. 10% Maintain recycling equipment. 10% Other Duties as assigned. Must be a current UVU student. Able to obtain Forklift certification within 6 months of hire. Knowledge of tools and methods used in recycling. Knowledge of materials and what can and cannot be recycled. Knowledge of specialized equipment used for recycling. Knowledge of safe loading, unloading, and transporting of heavy loads using trucks and trailers. Knowledge of general maintenance operations. Good interpersonal communication skills. Ability to withstand strenuous and adverse working conditions. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to drive ¾ ton pickup truck. Ability to safely lift up to 50lbs.
