Job Description

This position is responsible for the collection of solid waste.

Accompanies a solid waste collection truck along an assigned route.
Moves and positions cans and dumpsters.
Identifies hazardous wastes and other items not suitable for transport.
Collects grass clippings and other yard waste.
Washes trucks.
Collects litter from rights-of-way.
Paints and repairs dumpsters.
Performs related duties.
Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent
No experience requirements.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. City of Bismarck does not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
Knowledge of department and city policies and procedures.
Knowledge of hazardous materials identification principles.
Skill in lifting and positioning cans.
Skill in the use of hand and yard tools.
Skill in oral and written communication.
