Freight Operations & Customer Service Coordinator Atlantic Models, Inc Medley, FL Job Details Full-time $18 - $26 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid time off Flexible schedule Qualifications Computer operation Filing Schedule management Data entry Account management Full Job Description We are seeking an organized, experienced, and customer-focused Freight Operations & Customer Service Coordinator to join our team at our Miami facility. This position offers a unique opportunity to become an early team member of a new freight-forwarding operation while also providing customer service and administrative support to Atlantic Models , an established company operating from the same facility. We are specifically interested in candidates with experience in domestic trucking and/or domestic and international air freight . Ocean freight experience is not required for this position. What You'll Be Doing This is a hands-on position combining freight operations, customer service, and office administration. On the freight side, you'll help coordinate shipments from quote and booking through pickup and final delivery. You'll communicate directly with customers, carriers, airlines, trucking companies, warehouses, and other service providers to keep freight moving and customers informed. You'll also assist Atlantic Models with customer communication, order processing, shipping coordination, and general office administration. As our freight business grows, we expect this position to become increasingly focused on freight operations and customer account management. Freight & Logistics Responsibilities Coordinate domestic trucking shipments, including LTL, FTL, expedited, and local cartage. Assist with domestic and international air-freight shipments. Obtain rates and assist with preparation of customer freight quotes. Schedule pickups and deliveries with trucking companies, airlines, warehouses, and other service providers. Track shipments from pickup through delivery and proactively communicate status to customers. Prepare and maintain shipment documentation and electronic files. Assist with air waybills, commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and related shipping documents. Communicate with customers regarding shipment requirements, schedules, rates, delays, and delivery. Assist with carrier invoices, customer billing, and shipment closeout. Identify shipment problems and work with customers and service providers to resolve them. Help develop procedures and systems as the freight operation grows. Atlantic Models Customer Service & Office Support Respond to customer phone calls and emails. Assist customers with order status, shipping information, and general inquiries. Coordinate communication between customers, management, and production staff. Assist with quotes, purchase orders, invoices, shipping documents, and general paperwork. Coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments. Maintain organized customer and project records. Perform general office, data-entry, and clerical functions as needed. What We're Looking For Freight, logistics, transportation, or forwarding experience is strongly preferred. Experience in one or more of the following areas would be particularly valuable: Domestic trucking / ground transportation LTL and FTL freight Local cartage and expedited freight Domestic air freight International air import/export Freight quoting and carrier coordination Shipment tracking and customer service Air waybills and shipping documentation Ocean freight experience is not necessary. We're looking for someone who: Has strong customer-service and communication skills. Is highly organized and pays attention to details. Can manage several active shipments and customer requests simultaneously. Is comfortable speaking directly with customers, drivers, carriers, and vendors. Can recognize a problem and take the initiative to help resolve it. Is proficient with email, Microsoft Office, and general computer systems. Is comfortable learning new freight-management and business software. Works well independently in a small-business environment. About the Position This is not a narrowly defined corporate position. We're building a new freight operation and want someone who is comfortable wearing several hats. One moment you may be obtaining a trucking rate or tracking an air shipment; the next you may be answering a customer question for Atlantic Models, preparing paperwork, or coordinating an outbound shipment. We believe this provides the right candidate with an unusual opportunity: join a new freight operation at the beginning and grow with it. As freight volume and the customer base increase, we expect the freight responsibilities of this position to grow as well.
Pay:
$18.00 - $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
