Job Purpose:

The Front End Manager at Hugo's Family Marketplace is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the front-end department, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining efficient cashier and courtesy clerk performance. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage scheduling, training, and inventory control while fostering a positive and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide outstanding customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly. Schedule and monitor the performance of cashiers and courtesy clerks to ensure efficient service. Train front-end staff in customer service techniques, cash handling, and store policies. Control inventory of front-end supplies to ensure availability and manage costs. Ensure proper bagging techniques are used to protect customer purchases. Maintain a clean and organized front-end area through a comprehensive housekeeping program. Demonstrate great communication and listening skills to effectively interact with customers and staff. Exhibit attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Required Education:

Minimum high school diploma Some college coursework or Associate's degree in business, retail management, or a related field

Required Experience:

Ability to handle cash responsibly and maintain confidentiality Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently

Preferred Experience:

Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus but not required Basic math skills and attention to detail Strong communication and interpersonal skills
