Job Description
Overview We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Service Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for customers seeking automotive services, ensuring a seamless communication process between clients and our service department. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive repair processes and excellent interpersonal skills to provide exceptional customer service. Responsibilities Greet customers promptly and professionally, assessing their automotive service needs. Document customer concerns and relay information accurately to the service technicians. Prepare accurate estimates for repairs and services, utilizing auto estimating software. Maintain detailed records of services performed, parts used, and customer interactions. Coordinate with mechanics and service technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs. Follow up with customers regarding service recommendations and status updates. Assist in resolving customer complaints or concerns in a professional manner. Promote additional services or products that may benefit the customer's vehicle performance. Skills Proficiency in auto estimating and familiarity with automotive repair processes. Knowledge of mechanic work, including auto body repair and diesel engine repair. Experience as a service technician or in automotive diagnostics is preferred. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly to customers. Background in automotive sales is a plus, enhancing the ability to promote services effectively. Familiarity with dealership operations and standards is advantageous. Ability to align customer needs with appropriate services offered by the shop. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
