Service Writer A growing, established provider of lifting equipment solutions is adding a Service Writer to its service team. This role is the customer's main contact for truck-mounted equipment, especially mobile cranes and other crane-equipped service and utility trucks. What You'll Do Work with customers to understand equipment problems on trucks and mobile cranes, asking clarifying questions and reviewing maintenance history and service schedules to pin down the issue. Build accurate estimates (parts, supplies, and labor) and write clear repair orders that document symptoms, causes, and recommended work. Get customer approval and enter each order into the service system. Confirm warranty and service-contract coverage, explain what is and isn't covered, and follow each manufacturer warranty claim through to payment with Accounting. Keep customers informed on estimates, progress, and expected completion, and answer questions on pricing, availability, and product use. Coordinate with Parts on stock and order approved inventory items as needed. Partner with Service Management on account-specific plans, quotes, and bid documentation, and pass customer satisfaction feedback up the chain. Introduce customers to the company's other service offerings and keep your technical knowledge current through manufacturer training and publications. What You'll Bring Hands-on familiarity with truck-mounted cranes, including mobile cranes and knuckle-boom units. Experience with brands such as Palfinger, Fassi, Elliott, or Terex is a plus, as is experience with heavy-duty truck chassis and aerial or material-handling equipment. Three years of proven experience in service writing, technical, and warranty administration roles in a heavy-duty truck or truck-equipment shop. Ability to read engineering drawings and hydraulic schematics. Proficiency in Excel and Word. Dependable, with a valid driver's license. Must live in the branch's metropolitan area. I.G.
