Position Summary:

Thumb Area Transit is seeking a dependable and organized Dispatcher to coordinate daily bus operations. The Dispatcher serves as the central communication point between drivers, passengers, and management—ensuring efficient scheduling, excellent customer service, and on-time performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Schedule and dispatch drivers to ensure timely service. Communicate with drivers via radio or phone to manage routes, changes, and updates. Assist passengers with ride requests, questions, and scheduling. Provide courteous and professional customer service to all passengers and staff.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required. Strong communication and multitasking skills. Computer proficiency. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail. Must be dependable and able to work assigned shifts (which may include some early mornings or evenings). Dispatchers can expect to make $36K-55K per year. Benefit package available for full-time employment including: health, optical, dental, and life insurance. $500 Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), up to 6% retirement match, paid time off, and eligibility for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Applicants must possess a valid Michigan Drivers License and must obtain at a minimum a Michigan Chauffer License within 2 weeks after date of hire. Applicants must meet the standards of a physical examination and drug testing to comply with the rules and regulations of the Michigan Department of Transportation and the Federal Transit Administration. Base Pay:

$36,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
