Duties Conduct thorough vehicle inspections to assess collision damage using computer-aided estimating software and automotive diagnostics tools. Prepare detailed repair estimates that include parts, labor, and materials, ensuring accuracy and transparency for customers. Communicate clearly with clients about repair procedures, timelines, costs, and upselling additional services such as oil changes, tire services, alignments, or mechanical repairs. Collaborate with technicians to understand repair scopes and ensure estimates align with actual repair work needed. Manage customer interactions from initial consultation through vehicle pickup, providing exceptional service writing and client communication throughout the process. Upsell additional automotive services such as brake repairs, suspension work, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts replacements, or transmission diagnostics to maximize shop revenue. Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain detailed records of all estimates, repairs, and client interactions. Maintain knowledge of dealership standards and automotive repair procedures to ensure consistent quality and compliance. Experience Proven experience in collision repair estimation or auto service writing within a dealership or independent shop environment. Familiarity with estimating software such as CCC ONE or Mitchell is highly preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge across various automotive systems including transmissions, air brakes, suspensions, alignments, tire services, diesel engines, and oil changes. Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics tools and understanding of auto body repair processes. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex repair details clearly and professionally. Dealership experience is a plus but not required; however, familiarity with auto estimating procedures is essential. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to drive company vehicles as needed. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
