Job Description

Position Summary The organization is seeking a Customer Service Representative - Senior to serve as a Customer Care Advocate. The advocate will support customers through phone and digital channels, assisting with complex questions related to policies and benefits. No prior insurance experience is necessary, as training and AI-powered tools will support the candidate. The role emphasizes empathy, clarity, and adherence to confidentiality standards, contributing to building customer confidence and advocacy. Key Responsibilities Act as the main point of contact for customers via phone and digital channels, resolving detailed policy, coverage, billing, and service inquiries with professionalism. Use established guidelines and approved exception processes to handle non-routine and sensitive customer issues. Leverage AI-powered tools that guide workflows, recommend next steps, and aid in summarizing customer interactions to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Review and validate AI-generated summaries and case notes to ensure correctness and alignment with organizational policies and customer intent. Document all customer interactions thoroughly, accurately, and in a timely manner, maintaining compliance with privacy and regulatory standards. Recognize issues that require escalation and coordinate with internal teams, supervisors, or specialists to resolve them effectively. Provide feedback on common issues, knowledge gaps, and opportunities for process improvements. Participate actively in ongoing training and skill development related to products, systems, and AI tools. Required Qualifications At least 1 year of customer service experience in a customer-facing role, such as in call centers, healthcare, financial services, or similar environments. Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex issues across multiple systems, including customer relationship management platforms and knowledge bases. Demonstrated judgment in handling non-routine situations within established guidelines and compliance protocols. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly interpret and convey information. Flexibility to work scheduled shifts between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM CT / 8:00 AM and 11:00 PM ET, Monday through Friday, with some overtime and shift adjustment as needed. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Preferred Qualifications Over 2 years of experience in insurance, financial services, healthcare, or related regulated industries. Familiarity with AI-assisted service tools such as automated summarization, guided decision workflows, or similar technologies. Proven experience managing escalations, complaints, or sensitive customer interactions. Knowledge of authentication, data protection, and compliance standards within regulated environments.
