Duties Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process retail sales transactions accurately. Handle cash, credit card payments, and other payment methods with precision, ensuring proper cash drawer handling. Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos. Upsell products and promote store specials to enhance sales and improve the customer experience. Stock shelves, organize displays, and assist with merchandising to maintain an attractive store environment. Maintain phone etiquette when responding to customer inquiries or coordinating store operations. Support product demos and educate customers about features, benefits, and usage of various items. Assist in inventory management tasks such as stocking shelves and conducting stock counts as needed. Ensure the checkout area remains clean, organized, and welcoming at all times. Experience Previous retail sales or cashiering experience is preferred, especially within grocery or specialty retail stores. Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in team settings or during busy periods. Familiarity with POS systems, cash register operations, and retail math is essential for accuracy in transactions. Strong communication skills are vital for engaging with diverse customers effectively. Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve a broader customer base comfortably. Experience conducting product demos or upselling techniques will help maximize sales opportunities. Knowledge of grocery store operations or retail store product knowledge enhances overall performance in this role.
