Job Description

Storefront Technology Assistant Sequim Computer Services by FixIT Computer & Tech is hiring a part-time Storefront Technology Assistant at our Sequim location.
Pay:
$20
  • 24/hour, depending on experience, customer-service ability, and technical knowledge.
Advanced technical experience is not required. We're looking primarily for someone dependable, good with people, comfortable with everyday technology, and interested in learning. This position will initially focus on helping customers and keeping the storefront running smoothly, with opportunities to take on more technical responsibilities as your skills develop. Responsibilities
  • Greet customers and help determine what type of technology assistance they need
  • Check computers, phones, tablets, and other devices in and out for service
  • Collect accurate customer information and document reported problems
  • Answer phones, take messages, and help with basic scheduling
  • Contact customers when devices are ready for pickup or when additional information is needed
  • Assist customers with simple technology questions when appropriate
  • Keep customer devices, paperwork, accessories, and work areas organized
  • Help maintain a clean, professional, and welcoming storefront
  • Assist with basic inventory, supplies, and retail items
  • Follow customer privacy, data security, and device-handling procedures
  • Learn basic troubleshooting and computer service procedures over time Opportunities to Learn and Grow Depending on your interest and ability, this position can grow into more hands-on technical work, including:
  • Computer setup and configuration
  • Software installation and updates
  • Basic Windows troubleshooting
  • Malware and security-related services
  • Data transfers and backups
  • Hardware upgrades
  • Device diagnostics
  • Remote technical support
  • Customer education and technology training
  • Eventually handling service appointments or repair jobs independently You do not need to know how to do all of these things when you start.

A good candidate will:

  • Respect customer privacy and confidential information
  • Be interested in learning new technology and developing additional skills Previous customer service, retail, office, computer, or technical experience is helpful but not required.
