We're looking for the person who can become our technical owner : someone who wants responsibility for how customer technology is installed, configured, supported and ultimately designed. This is NOT a desk-only IT job. This is NOT a low voltage job. You may configure VLANs and troubleshoot Wi-Fi in the morning, then climb a ladder, terminate Cat6, build a rack, mount cameras or work on access control in the afternoon.
Imagine we tell you:
"We're installing the network, Wi-Fi, cameras and access control for a new 20,000-square-foot office. Here's the scope. You're going to own the whole implementation." If that sounds exciting, this role may be for you. What You'll Own Provided a customer you will own planning, cabling, installation, integration, programming and commissioning. Customer networking and UniFi environments - gateways, switches, VLANs, Wi-Fi, VPNs, cameras, NVRs and access control. Technical execution of projects from handoff through installation, configuration, testing, commissioning, documentation and customer handoff. Install and support UniFi networks, Wi-Fi, cameras and access-control systems. Troubleshooting and routine support for DDT customers without needing step-by-step direction. Clear customer communication and responsibility for getting the technical problem or project across the finish line. Improving DDT's technical standards, documentation, checklists and deployment methods. Who We Are Looking For Our strongest candidate may currently be a Systems Technician, Network Technician, Field Engineer, Systems Administrator, IT Specialist or Tier 2/3 technician at an MSP or IT services company. You do not need to already be a master low-voltage installer. We care more about your IT/network foundation, troubleshooting brain, ownership mentality and whether you genuinely enjoy tools and field work.
Strong networking fundamentals:
VLANs, DHCP, DNS, switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi, VPNs and troubleshooting.
Hands-on personality:
ladders, drilling, mounting equipment, racks, cabling and construction environments sounds fun & interesting - not beneath you.
Resourceful:
isolate variables, read documentation, test hypotheses and bring solutions...think
MacGyver Customer-ready:
professional with owners, office managers, GCs and IT teams.
Ownership-minded:
care whether the entire customer system works, not whether your individual ticket is closed.
Growth-minded:
want to learn cameras, access control, low voltage, design and complete project ownership. Professional with customers and capable of eventually leading and developing other technicians. What This Can Become As you prove your capability & ownership, so does your opportunity: integration and support, technical design, site surveys, solution development, customer consultation, standards and leadership. The Person We Want to Meet Strong IT/MSP tech + troubleshooting brain + loves hands-on work. Can't stand sitting in behind desk everyday. Curious problem solver. We're not looking for a low-voltage expert. We're looking for an IT/networking person who genuinely wants to learn low voltage. This person enjoys power tools as much as scripting. Loves putting something together and seeing the finished product.
