We specialize in high-quality residential and light commercial projects including Savant smart home systems, distributed audio, lighting control, networking, security cameras, and related low-voltage work. We are looking for an experienced Lead Programmer / AV Integrator & Foreman who can take projects from pre-wire through final programming, commissioning, and client handoff. Position Overview This is a hands-on leadership role. You will program and commission systems, lead field crews, ensure clean professional installations, and deliver completed projects that meet high standards. You will work closely with the owner on estimates, project planning, and client communication. Key Responsibilities Program and commission Savant systems (primary platform) Program and integrate Lutron lighting and shading systems Lead jobs from pre-wire / rough-in through trim-out, rack building, programming, testing, and final client walkthrough Supervise and mentor installation technicians and apprentices on job sites Ensure clean, labeled, code-compliant cabling and professional rack work Troubleshoot complex system issues (control, audio, video, networking, lighting) Coordinate with electricians, builders, and other trades Maintain project documentation and quality standards Support sales efforts when needed (client meetings, system explanations, scope discussions) Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in residential or commercial AV / smart home integration Strong, proven experience programming and commissioning Savant systems Solid experience with Lutron (HomeWorks, RA2/RA3, or equivalent) Demonstrated ability to run complete jobs from pre-wire through final completion Strong low-voltage wiring, termination, testing, and rack-building skills Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, VLANs, Wi-Fi, switches) Ability to read plans, wire schedules, and system drawings Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work on ladders, and work in finished homes Preferred Qualifications Sales or client-facing experience (a plus) Experience with additional platforms (Control4, Crestron, Sonance, security/access control, motorized shades, etc.) CEDIA, Savant, or Lutron certifications Experience leading small crews Compensation & Benefits $80,000 - $90,000 annual salary (DOE) Flexible time off Opportunity for growth with an expanding company Work on interesting, high-quality projects in Southern California Gas card / work van provided Privite Office About Us All Star Audio Video is an up-and-coming AV integration company focused on quality workmanship, reliable systems, and strong client relationships.
