Job Description

What are we looking for? A kick-ass Technician Where are we located? Castle Rock, CO, just outside of Denver Who would you report to? Isaac, our President, and Alex, our Project/Operations Manager. They're pretty kick-ass. What kind of job is this? Full-time. We're a small team, so we're looking for someone to put in a little extra effort (like participating in our on-call rotation, for instance) from time to time! Who are we? Ever watched Iron Man or binge-watched a throwback like The Jetsons and thought, "Wow, imaging living in a house like that"? Homes with AI assistants, automated everything, and tech that feels straight out of the future. Well, the future's catching up fast. Smart-home tech is advancing at lightning speed, and today's new builds and renovations are starting to mirror the kinds of homes we used to only dream about on screen. Turning those perceived pipe dreams into reality is our niche here at Savvy Life. We work very closely with homeowners, builders, and even commercial clients to design and integrate automated technology, utilizing a holistic approach. We strive to not only design and install the latest doodads and gizmos like the tech geeks we are, but we also ensure that they enrich the lives of our clients' luxury residences through unparalleled comfort and efficiency. And while we all love efficiency, something we never cut corners with are our client relationships. When we work with a client, they become a client for life. Do you have a sincere passion for technology and knack for curating an amazing client experience? Well. . . what are you waiting for?! Apply to join our team today! What would a typical day look like? Whether you're a solid Journeyman tech ready to build and commission systems independently or a Master Tech capable of running complex multi-system job sites and mentoring others, we have a spot for you. You're past the basics—you know how to build clean racks, configure networks, troubleshoot control systems, and walk high-end clients through their brand-new tech with confidence. Here's how a typical week might look: On Monday, you're building and dressing a custom equipment rack, setting up Wi-Fi access points, and coordinating on-site details with the electrician; On Tuesday, you're mounting displays, configuring static IPs for streaming devices, and programming/commissioning multi-zone audio and control systems; On Wednesdays, we all fly to Vegas together and hit the casinos. (just kidding; we just wanted to make sure you're still paying attention.) You may end your week on Friday by resolving a tricky networking issue, documenting system details in iPoint, and walking a thrilled homeowner through operating their system. At a more granular level, your days will consist of the following:
Advanced Installation & Commissioning:
Mounting displays, organizing equipment racks, and configuring home theater, distributed audio, security, shading, and lighting control systems.
Network & Hardware Configuration:
Deploying and troubleshooting networks (IP addressing, DHCP, static IPs, Wi-Fi access points, switches/routers, and VLAN setups).
System Integration & Programming:
Configuring and basic programming for automation systems like Control4, Savant, or Lutron to ensure 100% functionality prior to handover.
Job-Site Communication & Customer Training:
Serving as a key technical contact for clients, general contractors, and trade partners on site, and guiding homeowners through daily system operation.
Field Leadership & Support:
Working independently or leading on-site execution while helping coach and guide junior technicians on best practices.
Documentation & Quality Control:
Utilizing tools like iPoint and Slack to track project completion, update punch lists, and maintain our high standard of installation quality. If we're lucky, your daily work will be planned and structured. However, priorities can shift at a moment's notice. You must be comfortable with shifting focus and willing to be an active participant in juggling multiple demands. We hope you like hats. . . you can expect to wear many of them, since we're a small team! You will always be expected to treat our clients and your colleagues with patience and friendliness, no matter how big or small their issue. Client service is something we hold sacred at our company, so it is of the utmost importance that you be willing and able to serve as a helping hand for our clients in their moment of need. What should you bring to the table? 3+ years of experience in custom low-voltage, residential AV, and smart home integration. Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, DHCP/Static IPs, Wi-Fi networks, routers, switches, and basic VLANs). Hands-on experience with control systems (Control4, Savant, Lutron, Sonos, Araknis, Ubiquiti, Ruckus, etc.). Ability to read and interpret low-voltage schematics, AV plans, and architectural elevations. Outstanding client-facing skills with a knack for explaining complex tech in plain English. Industry certifications are a major plus (CEDIA, Control4, Savant, Lutron, Ubiquiti, Network+). Demonstrated ability to work independently or lead job sites and mentor junior techs. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Reliable transportation and a clean driving record (we provide company vehicles!). Professional appearance, strong communication skills, and an accountable, team-first attitude. Full kit of basic and advanced hand/power tools (cordless drill, strippers, crimpers, meters, etc.). What do we bring to the table?
