ECO Automated Designs is looking for an experienced Lead Low Voltage / AV Technician to join our team in Mundelein, IL. We design and install custom technology systems for residential clients, bringing together audio, video, networking, home automation, and more. We're looking for a technician who enjoys working with technology, takes pride in their work, and is ready to take ownership of projects in the field. If you're the person others turn to when something isn't working, you enjoy figuring out how technology works, and you're ready to take the lead on installations, we'd like to meet you. What You'll Be Doing As our Lead Technician, you'll be an important part of taking projects from the wiring stage all the way through installation, programming, troubleshooting, and completion.

You'll:

Lead residential AV and low-voltage installations from beginning to end Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot low-voltage cabling Install and configure audio, video, networking, security, and home automation systems Install TVs, speakers, racks, equipment, control systems, and related technology Work with Control4 systems, including programming and troubleshooting Read floor plans, wiring diagrams, schematics, and equipment specifications Troubleshoot systems and find solutions when things don't go according to plan Install and organize equipment racks, low-voltage panels, and junction boxes Communicate directly with homeowners, builders, designers, architects, and other trades Keep job sites clean, organized, and professional Take responsibility for company tools, equipment, and vehicles Travel to residential job sites throughout the area Learn and work with new technology as products and systems continue to evolve The Person We're Looking For We're looking for more than someone who can pull wire. We want a technician who can think, troubleshoot, communicate, and take pride in the finished product. You may be a great fit if you: Have 2+ years of hands-on experience in low-voltage, AV, home automation, or a related field Have experience installing and troubleshooting residential technology systems Have knowledge of Control4 Know your way around hand and power tools Can read and understand plans, diagrams, and technical documentation Enjoy solving problems and aren't easily frustrated when something doesn't work the first time Can work independently and make good decisions in the field Are comfortable taking the lead and helping other technicians succeed Have strong attention to detail and care about doing the job right Are professional and comfortable working directly with customers Are dependable, organized, and willing to learn Have a valid driver's license Can pass a background check Are comfortable lifting equipment and spending time standing, climbing, bending, kneeling, and working in various job-site conditions Why ECO Automated Designs?
