Responsibilities

Check out and check in video equipment for students enrolled in

VID 202, VID

306, and VID 410.

Inspect, clean, maintain, and secure gear housed in the video equipment cabinet.

Conduct regular inventory audits of all production gear and accessories.

Oversee and manage the reservation schedule for the Studio B production space.

Maintain cleanliness, order, and organization across production facilities (SDH 204 and SDH 202).

Participate in professional development activities to stay current on campus video gear and operational workflows.

Serve as part of the Commencement livestream production team each semester (setup, cable management, and live camera operation).

Execute special projects and administrative tasks as assigned by the supervisors.

Required Skills

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for inventory and scheduling tasks.

Reliable verbal communication and problem-solving skills when assisting students.

Familiarity with basic video production equipment (e.g., DSLRs/cinema cameras, tripods, lighting, audio gear, and accessories).

Basic technical troubleshooting skills for camera and production gear.

Ability to follow facility safety protocols and handle fragile, high-value gear responsibly.

Qualifications

Current university student in good academic standing.

Preference given to students who have completed or are currently enrolled in VID/media production courses.

Ability to commit to 5-6 additional hours during Commencement week each semester.

Availability to work scheduled shifts in the lab, including potentially variable hours.

Capability to lift and transport production equipment safely (up to 25-30 lbs).
