Marketing Copywriter Kairos Digital Jacksonville, FL Job Details Full-time $50,000 - $65,000 a year 21 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Parental leave Vision insurance Flexible schedule Qualifications Website management Teamwork WordPress Content writing Stylistic editing Conversion optimization SEO content writing Web writing Metadata creation Full Job Description Who We Are At Kairos Digital, we believe effective, purposeful marketing makes the world a better place. We are a team of marketing professionals driven by a simple truth: good ideas and organizations should be growing. When they don't, problems go unsolved, and the wrong companies stay on top. Our mission is to help incredible organizations transform their marketing efforts so they can thrive, serve more people, and become world-changing leaders. This purpose extends beyond our clients; we are currently on a mission to drill 15 clean water wells in Northern Africa by 2026, helping those in deepest poverty break the cycle of poverty and access hope.
We don't do this for self-advancement. We are service-oriented, not sales-oriented. If we can't help you, we will tell you. We are looking for someone who shares our core values: Use the Golden Rule, Ask the Stupid Question, Solve Problems that Matter and Look for the Win-Win. The Role We are seeking a Content Manager to own the quality of every piece of content that leaves our agency. At Kairos, our focus is web content that converts — and this role is the final checkpoint between a rough draft and copy a client is proud to publish.
Our ideal Content Manager is comfortable working with AI to create content and then revising it to meet the standards of our clients. Our AI tools generate strong first drafts. Your job is to make it sound human, on-brand, and persuasive — then fill in everything a machine and a strategist can't: voice, judgment, and taste. You need a sharp editorial eye, not a novelist's pen. If you can synthesize inputs from multiple sources and edit them into copy that sounds like the client (not like AI, and not like every other agency), you will thrive here.
You will work closely with our SEO Specialist, Account Manager, Account Coordinators and the Technical Web Project Manager, to develop SEO-optimized pages that rank and read well, as well as copy, sitemaps, and wireframes for the websites we build. Key Responsibilities 1. Content Editing & Refinement (Your Core Work) Edit and refine AI-assisted drafts so they sound human, specific, and on-brand — never generic or repetitive. Polish blog posts and page copy delivered from the SEO Specialist's briefs, headers, and keyword targets. Balance SEO requirements with natural language: work target keywords into copy without making it sound forced or cheesy. Make sure headlines carry both a keyword and a reason to keep reading. Serve as the last set of eyes on client-facing content — if it reads wrong, it doesn't ship. 2. SEO Content Collaboration Partner with the SEO Specialist to complete monthly content deliverables (new blogs, refreshed blogs, and SEO-optimized pages) per each client's scope. Execute from content briefs, keyword research, and page outlines provided by SEO — strategy lives with them; execution quality lives with you.
Flag blockers early:
if you've scheduled time for an assigned piece and haven't received the brief, raise it immediately in the weekly tactical meeting. Update meta titles, meta descriptions, and on-page content in the CMS as part of content delivery. 3. Website Copy & Content Structure Write website copy for new builds and redesigns — copy built to convert, not just fill a page. Develop sitemaps and wireframes for website projects in collaboration with the Technical Web Project Manager. Coordinate with the Technical Web Project Manager to get copy placed, formatted, and QA'd correctly on live sites. Source and resource supporting content and imagery when a page or post needs it. 4. Brand Voice & Client-Facing Support Learn each client's voice — how they talk, what they care about, what their audience responds to — and make sure every deliverable represents them well. Walk clients through a brand-identifying process that helps Kairos capture their unique voice. Join client calls when content is the topic: kickoffs for new accounts, voice/tone calibration, or working sessions when a client's feedback needs a direct conversation. Support Account Managers and Coordinators as the content expert in the room — comfortable in front of clients, not just behind the scenes. 5. Social & Supporting Content Maintain social content for the clients whose scope includes it.
Bonus:
bring curiosity and a desire to research and expand our social strategy over time — it's an area we'd love this role to grow. -
Required Qualifications Experience:
2+ years in content editing, copy editing, content marketing, or a similar role (agency experience preferred).
Editorial Judgment:
A demonstrated ability to take rough, AI-generated, or technical drafts and turn them into polished, human copy.
SEO Literacy:
Working knowledge of on-page SEO — keywords, H1/H2 structure, meta titles and descriptions — and how to write within it naturally.
Web Fundamentals:
Comfort working in a CMS (WordPress preferred) to update copy, metadata, and page content.
Synthesis:
Ability to take inputs from multiple people (SEO briefs, client feedback, account notes) and produce one coherent piece of copy.
Organization:
Ability to manage recurring deliverables across multiple client accounts without dropping the ball.
Communication:
Professional and comfortable client-facing — able to hop on a call, ask good questions, and represent the agency well. Nice-to-Have Skills Experience with sitemapping and wireframing tools. Familiarity with AI writing tools and prompt refinement for content workflows. Social media strategy or content calendar experience. Basic understanding of conversion copywriting principles (CTAs, page hierarchy, user intent). Experience with ClickUp or similar project management tools. Success Indicators (What Great Looks Like) No content ships sounding like AI wrote it — clients regularly say "this sounds like us." SEO deliverables assigned to you are completed on time, every month, per scope. Blockers get flagged the day they appear, not the week the deliverable is due. Website copy projects (sitemaps, wireframes, page copy) move smoothly between you and the Technical Web Project Manager with minimal rework. Account Managers trust you in front of their clients. Why Join Kairos Digital?
Purpose-Driven Work:
You aren't just editing copy; you are helping good businesses thrive and contributing to a global mission.
Culture of Integrity:
We value honesty over sales. We don't pretend to know everything, and we encourage you to ask the stupid question.
Real Impact:
You will own your work. If you see a problem, you solve it. If you make a mistake, you own it.
Work Environment:
Flexible, supportive, and fun under pressure. We believe work can be hard without being miserable.
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
Benefits:
Dental insurance Flexible schedule Health insurance Paid time off Parental leave Vision insurance
