Copywriter - Amazon & DTC - Local Candidates Only

Job Description

Who we are We're a growing, privately held importer and multi-channel e-commerce business doing meaningful volume across four major marketplaces and our own DTC site. The team is small enough that your work is visible and fast enough that you'll see results within weeks, not quarters. We sell across Amazon, Walmart, Target Plus, eBay, and our own DTC storefront at mixwholesale.com. Every one of those channels has its own rules, its own shopper, and its own version of "good copy." We're hiring one person to own all of it. This isn't a role where you'll be handed a brief and asked to make it sound nicer. You'll sit close to the buying and channel teams, see the sales data behind what you write, and have room to rewrite what isn't working. If you like the puzzle of turning a spec sheet into something a shopper actually buys — and then finding out whether you were right — you'll like this job. What you'll do Write the catalog: Titles, bullets, descriptions, A+ Content, Brand Story, storefront pages, comparison charts, and FAQs across Amazon and our other marketplace channels — plus product pages and landing pages on the DTC site.
Make the specs mean something:
Take dimensions, materials, and feature lists and turn them into a clear reason to choose our product over the six others on the screen. Fix what's already live: Audit existing listings, prioritize by revenue impact, and rewrite for clarity, search visibility, and conversion. Build templates and messaging frameworks so the next hundred listings start from a stronger baseline.
Own discoverability:
Use keyword research, search behavior, and competitor listings to write copy that ranks — on Amazon search, on Google, and increasingly in AI-driven shopping tools — without sounding like it was written for a crawler.
Support launches:
Come in early on new products to shape positioning, naming, and launch messaging, then carry that through to email, paid media, social, promotions, and seasonal campaigns.
Close the loop:
Read review themes, return reasons, search terms, and conversion data. Write variations, test them, and tell us what you learned.
Set the standards:
Help define our brand voice, terminology, and naming conventions — and keep them consistent as the catalog grows. Work with AI, critically: We use AI writing tools and expect you to. We also expect you to catch what they get wrong, and to help us shape how we use them. What you'll bring 4+ years of professional copywriting in e-commerce, DTC, consumer products, retail, or an in-house creative team. Hands-on experience writing Amazon listings — titles, bullets, A+ Content, detail pages — with an understanding of how the marketplace actually converts. A portfolio showing product storytelling and conversion-focused writing, not just clever headlines. Working knowledge of SEO, keyword research, and search intent, including how AI-powered search is changing product discovery. The ability to shift voice across categories, channels, and audiences without losing the thread. Sharp editing and proofreading, and the project management skills to keep dozens of SKUs moving at once. Practical experience with AI writing tools and clear judgment about where they help and where they don't. Bachelor's degree in English, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience. Nice to have... Experience in home goods, outdoor living, furniture, toys, or other feature-rich consumer categories Amazon Seller Central or Vendor Central, listing optimization platforms, keyword tools, Shopify, CMS/DAM systems A/B testing experience and familiarity with marketplace compliance requirements If you'd like to apply, please send your resume and a portfolio or 3-5 writing samples (Amazon listings you've written are the most useful thing you can show us — include the ASINs if they're live) to: careers@webstoregroup.com We are looking for someone to work in office with our team, full-time.
