Job Description

Company Overview Liquified Agency is a dynamic digital marketing, branding, and design firm based in Annapolis, Maryland and Sarasota, Florida. We specialize in delivering innovative web solutions, compelling branding strategies, and creative marketing campaigns to clients across the real estate, maritime, healthcare, non-profit, and technology sectors throughout the United States. Job Overview This is a hands-on role for an experienced designer who is ready to take on increased responsibility in concept development, visual direction, and creative leadership while continuing to actively design across branding, digital, social, print, web, campaign, and other agency work. The ideal candidate is a strong conceptual thinker and highly skilled designer who can develop original ideas, establish visual direction for appropriate projects, and help oversee the day-to-day creative output of our Graphic Designer and Junior Graphic Designer. This role will work closely with Liquified's Creative Director on larger campaigns, complex brand initiatives, and broader creative strategy while taking meaningful ownership of smaller and mid-sized projects. Responsibilities Develop visual concepts and creative directions based on project briefs, brand strategy, marketing objectives, and client needs. Establish visual direction for assigned projects, including typography, color, composition, imagery, illustration, photography style, and overall look and feel. Create polished design work across branding, campaigns, social media, digital advertising, web, email, print, presentations, packaging, and other agency applications. Develop and extend brand identity systems, including logos, typography, color palettes, graphic elements, iconography, illustration styles, and supporting visual assets. Create mood boards, sketches, storyboards, style frames, mockups, and other materials used to communicate creative concepts. Contribute to the concepting and art direction of photography and video productions, including mood boards, shot lists, styling direction, props, composition, talent positioning, and overall visual approach. Design and provide creative direction for websites and digital experiences, applying UX/UI principles to create visually engaging, intuitive, responsive, and brand-aligned interfaces in collaboration with the web team and other design team members. Collaborate with external production partners to help ensure final assets align with the approved creative direction. Assist the Creative Director with the supervision of day-to-day creative work of the creative team, providing clear direction, feedback, and support throughout the design process. Review creative work before it moves forward internally or to clients, ensuring it meets the project brief, brand standards, agency expectations, and overall creative direction. Mentor designers through constructive feedback, design critiques, and hands-on guidance that strengthens both the immediate work and their long-term creative development. Help designers understand not only what should be adjusted, but why a creative decision will improve the work. Delegate or help distribute design assignments based on project needs, skill level, workload, and development opportunities in collaboration with the Creative Director, Marketing Director, and project leadership. Identify when work requires additional refinement or escalation to the Creative Director for higher-level creative review. Present and clearly explain creative concepts and design rationale internally and, when appropriate, directly to clients. Collaborate with marketing and web teams to ensure creative work is both visually strong and strategically aligned. Maintain a high level of craft, consistency, and attention to detail from initial concept through final production. Manage multiple projects and client brands simultaneously while working within project scopes, timelines, and production requirements. Stay current with evolving design, branding, advertising, photography, social, and digital trends and apply them thoughtfully to client work. Other administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications Approximately 5+ years of professional design experience, preferably within an advertising agency, branding agency, creative studio, or similarly fast-paced multi-client environment. A strong portfolio demonstrating both conceptual thinking and high-level design execution across multiple channels. Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. Advanced proficiency in Figma Strong understanding of typography, layout, composition, hierarchy, color, visual storytelling, and brand systems. Experience designing websites and digital interfaces, with a strong working knowledge of UX/UI principles, responsive design, accessibility, information hierarchy, and user-centered design.
