Assistant Editor/Online Editor Paradox Post Vineyard, UT Job Details Full-time $60,000 - $75,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance 401(k) Paid time off Qualifications Computer operation macOS support Windows macOS Computer skills Windows support Desktop administration Full Job Description Paradox Post is hiring an Online Editor & Media Systems Specialist to take projects from locked cut to final delivery, and to keep our media, storage and archives running clean. You'll work across feature films and series, scripted and non-scripted, alongside the Mystery Box Studios team. Conform and online Conform offline edits to camera-original media using EDL, XML and AAF turnovers Relink, verify and troubleshoot timelines: missing media, speed changes, reframes, timecode mismatches Prep and hand off timelines for color, VFX and sound; reintegrate VFX shots and graded media Build titles, credits, lower thirds and basic graphics clean-up Editing Light editing asks, for example: assembling podcasts Cut versions, trailers, promos, social cutdowns and edit fixes from client notes Make textless versions, alternate cuts and compliance changes Mastering and delivery Create masters and deliverables to spec: ProRes, DNx, IMF and DCP packages, broadcast and streaming files
Run QC:
picture, audio layout, captions/subtitles, loudness and technical specs Read and follow distributor and streamer delivery requirements; track deliverables lists to completion Prepare stems, M&E, caption files, metadata and paperwork that ship with a delivery Data and systems Ingest, offload and verify media with checksums; manage proxies and transcodes Maintain project and folder structures, naming conventions and media management across shows Support edit and finishing workstations, shared storage (NAS/SAN) and networking Track storage capacity and keep backups running Archiving Archive finished projects to LTO and cloud with verified, documented, retrievable records Keep an archive catalog so any project can be restored years later Restore and re-version past projects when they come back for new deliverables Who we're looking for Required Strongly computer-savvy: comfortable with macOS and Windows, file systems, drives and troubleshooting Meticulous attention to detail, you notice a dropped frame or a misnamed file Organized and process-driven; you like systems and keep them clean Quick, eager learner who takes notes and follows a pipeline Clear communicator who can work with editors, colorists, producers and clients Reliable under deadlines, with flexibility for occasional late delivery pushes Nice to have Experience with all the NLEs (Resolve, Avid, Premiere) Familiarity with codecs, timecode, EDL/XML or color basics IT or networking knowledge: NAS/SAN, RAID, basic scripting Interest in color, sound or VFX workflows Programing coding experience
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
