Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a reliable, passionate, and creative Florist to join our team at our Lower East Side location. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for both traditional and experimental floral design. As a Florist at our store, you will be responsible for creating stunning floral arrangements, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining the overall presentation of our floral/plant shop. Your role will also involve assisting customers in selecting flowers for various occasions, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and care. You can see the style that we work in on our website here: https://www.joyflowerpot.com/ Duties Design and create floral arrangements and installations for various occasions including holidays, weddings, and special events. Assist customers in selecting flowers, arrangements, and plants that suit their needs while providing knowledgeable recommendations and plant education as needed. Maintain inventory by stocking flowers, plants, and supplies; ensuring freshness and quality at all times. Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions accurately while providing receipts to customers. Communicate effectively with customers to understand their preferences and provide exceptional service. Collaborate with team members to ensure the shop is well-organized and visually appealing. Perform landscape maintenance tasks as needed to enhance outdoor displays. Skills At least 2-3 years of retail floral experience is required. Strong sales skills with the ability to upsell products effectively. Proficiency in cash handling and experience operating Square POS system or cash register. Weekend availability. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Knowledge of retail sales practices and customer service principles. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining organization and attention to detail. Familiarity with Chelsea flower market is a plus.
