Duties Design and assemble floral arrangements, bouquets, and plant displays that meet customer specifications and seasonal trends Provide exceptional customer service by offering expert advice on floral choices, plant care, and gardening tips Manage retail sales transactions using POS (Point of Sale) systems, including cash handling and cashiering duties Assist customers with product selection, merchandising, stocking shelves, and organizing floral displays to enhance store presentation Support outdoor work activities such as lawn care, landscape maintenance, and general gardening tasks to maintain the store's aesthetic appeal Identify plants and flowers accurately to ensure quality control and proper customer guidance Handle e-commerce orders efficiently by preparing shipments and managing online product listings

Head Designer/Owner Job Summary:
We are looking for a compassionate, creative, and detail-oriented Florist to join our team. This role specializes in designing and arranging floral pieces for various occasions such as weddings, funerals, holidays, and everyday events. You will also assist with customer service, inventory management, and shop maintenance.

The ideal candidate combines artistic talent with empathy, strong organization, and excellent customer service skills to deliver memorable and meaningful floral experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and create floral arrangements, bouquets, centerpieces, and other decorative pieces. Consult with customers to understand their floral needs and preferences. Recommend appropriate flowers, foliage, and accessories for different occasions. Manage floral inventory, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining freshness of stock. Process payments and complete sales transactions. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and aesthetic appeal of the shop. Set up and break down floral arrangements for events as needed. Stay updated on floral trends, seasonal flowers, and industry best practices. Maintain knowledge of flower types, seasonal availability, and floral care. Assist walk-in and phone customers with floral purchases for various occasions. Consult with couples to understand their vision, theme, and floral preferences. Handle orders with discretion, care, and professionalism.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a florist or in a similar creative role preferred. Strong creative and artistic skills with an understanding of event themes and color theory. Excellent customer service and communication skills, and time management skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Physical ability to lift flower buckets and stand for extended periods. Knowledge of flower care, handling, and storage. Ability to show compassion and professionalism during emotionally sensitive events. Valid driver's license preferred (for delivery/setup purposes).
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in floral design. Portfolio of past wedding/funeral floral work is highly desirable. Ability to create mockups or digital proposals for clients.

$10.00 - $15.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 45.0 per week
