About the Role As a Prototype Fabrication Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in transforming conceptual designs into tangible products through precision manufacturing. By leveraging your expertise in metal fabrication and technical documentation, you will drive product development cycles and ensure high-quality outcomes for our clients. Responsibilities Execute the fabrication of prototypes and custom tooling by interpreting complex blueprints, sketches, and manufacturing travelers. Analyze existing product designs to identify opportunities for cost reduction, process optimization, and performance improvements. Operate and maintain advanced fabrication equipment, including TIG and MIG welding systems, to meet strict quality and aesthetic standards. Manage project timelines to ensure all deliverables align with customer expectations and internal production schedules. Utilize ERP software to maintain accurate documentation and ensure seamless workflow integration across the shop floor. Proactively identify and implement Lean manufacturing and 6S improvements to enhance operational efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges and streamline production setups. Qualifications Required Skills Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a professional manufacturing environment. Advanced proficiency in TIG and MIG welding, specifically with thin-gauge materials. Strong ability to read, interpret, and apply technical blueprints and engineering drawings. Proven experience using SolidWorks for design review and modification. Expertise in utilizing precision inspection gauges and various shop hand tools. Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects independently with a focus on continuous improvement. Preferred Skills Experience in identifying and executing set-up reduction initiatives. Strong background in troubleshooting complex mechanical assemblies. Ability to mentor junior staff on fabrication techniques and safety protocols.
