Job Description

Junior Graphic Designer Color Ink, a family-owned business is seeking a creative, detail-oriented Junior Graphic Designer to join our Creative Department. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career designer who is excited to build hands-on experience in commercial print, with retail displays, promotional materials and other specialty projects.
Position Summary:
The Junior Graphic Designer supports the Creative Department by creating digital and print marketing materials for commercial and promotional applications. This role assists with concept development, layout, print-ready file preparation, specialty display projects, and day-to-day design and production needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Create digital & print designs for sales materials, promotional campaigns, retail displays, signage, and other marketing applications Develop concepts, layouts, and production-ready artwork Read and understand job tickets and project specifications Prepare and organize files for print production Collaborate with all departments and team members when applicable Assist with design & production needs as projects arise Support social media graphics, email marketing, and internal initiatives Learn and use the company's print management system Participate in hands-on projects, including display assembly, instruction sheets, event materials & event setup/breakdown Follow best practices related to copyright, trademarks, licensing, and brand standards Stay current on design trends, production methods and relevant technology Performs other duties as assigned
Required:
  • Must have schedule flexibility to work evenings, weekends and overtime
  • Must have strong interpersonal, written and verbal skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • A collaborative attitude and willingness to ask questions, learn & take direction
  • Comfort working in both office and manufacturing environments
Education and Experience:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications or a related field preferred
  • 0-2 years relevant experience, including internships, freelance work, or school-based portfolio projects
  • A portfolio that demonstrates strong layout, typography, color and visual problem solving skills
  • Experience with web portal design, structural display CAD design, or 3D printing is a plus but not required
  • Print-production knowledge is a plus, but training will be provided

  • Kneel or crouch down, climb stairs and work at elevation levels
  • Lift, push and pull over 50 pounds
Work Environment:
  • Normal exposure to office environment
  • Occasional exposure to manufacturing environment may include dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise.

Pay:
