ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for a creative and detail-oriented Mechanical Designer to join our Engineering team and help develop innovative products across our market-leading brands, DENALI Electronics, Vision X Lighting, and NARVA . Working alongside talented engineers, product managers, and manufacturing teams, you will play a key role in transforming concepts into high-quality, production-ready solutions for the automotive and powersports industries. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with Brand Management and market specific Subject Matter Experts to define design scope, propose opportunities, and advise on limitations. Create and present professional product concepts utilizing any combination of traditional sketching, SolidWorks CAD, and SolidWorks Visualize. Perform 3D printing, CNC Cutting & Bending, and other prototyping practices to build and test product prototypes Engineer components and assemblies with adherence to Best Practices and Industry Standards to ensure requirements are met regarding to quality, manufacturability, compliance & performance, target costs; while maintaining Brand Language Work with Electrical Harness Designers to ensure integration of electrical harnesses and components. Perform FEA analysis on components and assemblies for purposes of simulated validation and to advise the requirement for Static and Dynamic testing. Support the definition of Design Verification Plans (DVP) by working closely with Engineering Manager and Compliance & Lab team members, with knowledge of 3rd party certifications and standards (DOT, ECE, SAE, IPXX, etc.) Perform DFMEA analyses for assemblies and host review with team members Generate 2D part drawings that clearly communicate the component's standard dimensions, critical GD&T, materials, and finishes. Create Assembly and Kit drawings that clearly define Bill of Materials (BOMs), special installation instructions, and relevant packaging, Support internal design reviews and peer checks to ensure designs meet requirements and design intent. Communicate with domestic and international suppliers to facilitate product quotations, product samples, specify assembly instructions, and product inspection reports. Organize and maintain assigned project tasks in the organization's project management tool, Wrike. Prepare product data for import into the company ERP system Create professional product assets required for product launch including data sheets, technical illustrations, and product instruction manuals. Maintain organized product documentation including Design Overviews, Market Research, 3D and 2D data, DFMEA Analysis, and Design Checklist. Support Non-Conformance investigations and perform revisional changes to existing products. Qualifications 3+ years of job experience in CAD Design Intimate knowledge and discipline with DFMA methodology, specializing sheet metal, thermoforming, injection molding, and casting. Experience developing automotive products or consumer electronics Proficiency in SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM Strong project management skills and extreme attention to detail Experience prototyping with 3D printing, 3D scanning, CNC, and general shop equipment What are you waiting for?
