Stock & Trade Design Co. Associate Designer Founded by Michael Carey, Stock & Trade Design Co. was created in 2012, within a 1,000 sq. ft. showroom in Birmingham, Alabama. Michael's love for furniture and design was born from a passion for real estate and construction. Stock & Trade is growing strong with 5 retail stores, a growing social media presence and solid business to business relationships within our communities. The Associate Designer role plays an important role in our future. This role will be responsible for supporting all in store design projects and will report to the gallery leader.
REQUIRED
The ideal candidate will have an associate's degree in interior design or equivalent work experience with a demonstrated ability to create high-level Design presentations & close the sale Minimum 3 years in the interior design or home furnishings industry Professional portfolio required Holidays & weekends required Must have open availability Valid driver's license with a good driving record and ability to provide own transportation to and from customers' homes for in home design consultations & installs SKILLS Positive & professional attitude People & relationship driven Strong leadership skills Strategic & mental agility Highly-organized Collaborative Results-oriented & closer mentality Excellent understanding of high-level customer service Excellent verbal & written communication skills Proficiency with IOS devices, Microsoft Office & Google Applications Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite & other related space planning/rendering programs preferred Strong artistic skills, including hand rendering & sketching capabilities preferred Demonstrated ability to space plan proficiently DUTIES Maintain sales quota set forth by company Collaborates & works closely with Lead Designer Provide input & direction for visual merchandising of the showroom Provide excellent customer service & maintain a strong client base Ability to meet deadlines & lead multiple design projects simultaneously Produce brand appropriate design presentations; communicating design concepts, space planning & product selections Ability to close the sale after presentation Own all phases of the client experience including consultations, site visits, delivery & after-the-sale follow-up to deliver the highest level of customer service & satisfaction Ability to create branded Design Presentations taking into consideration clients' aesthetic, architecture, lifestyle & budget Represent the brand through high-level communication, personal appearance & professionalism daily Maintain a strong interest & knowledge of design industry trends Strong presence on the sales floor when not actively working on projects to sell our design services and capture projects Participates in opening & closing of the galleries: sweep, windex, vacuum, straighten sales floor Ability to stand and maneuver on concrete sales floor for long durations (rest periods provided) Participates in cycle counts & physical inventories Other duties as assigned •The physical & mental demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
