Full-Time Interior Design Assistant | $22-$25 DOE | Hybrid | Huntington Beach, CA Vision Interiors is looking for a highly organized, resourceful, and hardworking full-time Interior Design Assistant to join our team. This is an opportunity for someone with some professional experience in interior design, architecture, graphics, or a related field who wants to build their skills and grow within an established interior design firm. We are looking for someone who already has strong computer and graphic skills and can produce clean, professional-looking work, even if we need to train you on the specific programs and systems we use. You should be comfortable learning new software, making changes to plans and presentations, working with product information, and figuring things out when you haven't done something before. This is a hybrid position that includes working from home, working from our Huntington Beach office/warehouse, and working in the field at client homes, project sites, showrooms, vendor locations, and local pickups. Where you work will vary based on the needs of our projects and studio. The position is intentionally varied. You may spend part of your week working on graphics and design-plan revisions, gathering product information, requesting quotes, tracking orders, or updating our website, and another part taking field measurements, pulling samples, accessory shopping, visiting project sites, receiving an order at our warehouse, or handling a local pickup. Everyone on our team is willing to pitch in and do what needs to be done to get a project across the finish line. That might mean working on a design presentation one day and unpacking accessories, moving boxes, making a last-minute pickup, organizing a job site, or cleaning up before a client reveal the next. There is no "that's not my job" mentality on our team. Our principal designer works the same way and will jump in alongside the team wherever needed. ResponsibilitiesDesign & Graphics Assist with design plans, presentations, and graphics Make revisions and changes to existing plans Gather information needed for design plans and project documentation Assist with project graphics and visual materials Update website content and project information Assist with miscellaneous marketing and graphic needs Learn to take field measurements and document existing spaces Assist with accessory selections, sourcing, and shopping Assist with installations, styling, and project completion Project & Purchasing Support Request product quotes and pricing from vendors Track product ETAs and follow up on outstanding orders Order samples and complete in-person sample pulls Assist with vendor setup and maintain vendor information Coordinate product pickups and returns Receive packages and deliveries at our warehouse Maintain accurate receiving and project records Assign payments to invoices and purchase orders Assist with miscellaneous project coordination as needed Studio & Field Support Help keep the studio and warehouse organized Create online listings for excess furniture and warehouse inventory Assist with basic technology setup and troubleshooting Perform local errands, pickups, and deliveries related to our projects Assist at client homes, project sites, showrooms, installations, and photo shoots Pitch in with hands-on project and installation tasks when needed Assist with administrative projects and other business needs as they arise Growth Opportunity We are looking for someone who wants to grow within the design side of the company while continuing to be an important part of the day-to-day support that keeps our projects and studio running. The right person will receive hands-on training in field measuring, accessory selection and shopping, project documentation, our design processes, and working directly with clients. As experience and skills develop, our goal is for this position to add client-facing color consultations and additional design responsibilities, with opportunities to earn commission in addition to hourly compensation. These added responsibilities are intended to expand the role, not replace its core responsibilities. Even as the position becomes more client-facing, this person will still be expected to assist with graphics, purchasing support, samples, pickups and returns, warehouse needs, project coordination, installations, and the other day-to-day tasks that help the team get projects completed. We are looking for someone who is excited by that variety and wants to grow as a designer without losing the team-first, hands-on nature of the position. What We're Looking For Some professional experience in interior design, architecture, graphics, or a related field Strong computer and graphic skills Experience with design, drafting, presentation, or graphics software Ability to learn new software and systems quickly A good eye for design and strong visual judgment Highly organized and detail-oriented Resourceful and comfortable figuring things out Able to work independently and take initiative Comfortable managing multiple assignments and changing priorities Professional communication skills and comfortable interacting with vendors, trades, and clients as needed A team-first attitude and willingness to pitch in wherever needed Someone who doesn't view certain tasks as beneath them and understands that every part of completing a project matters Dependable, punctual, and someone the rest of the team can count on Strong communication and follow-through Comfortable with the physical side of installations and project work, including lifting and moving samples, boxes, accessories, and smaller furniture Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for local work-related travel

Position Details Schedule:

Full-time Compensation:

$22-$25 per hour, depending on directly relevant experience. This is the established compensation range for the position. Additional commission opportunities may become available as the role develops into client-facing design services.

Location:

Hybrid. Work will be divided between working from home, our Huntington Beach office/warehouse, client homes, project sites, showrooms, vendor locations, and other local locations based on the needs of the business. Candidates must live within reasonable commuting distance of Huntington Beach and have reliable transportation. Mileage is reimbursed for business-related driving beyond the normal commute.

Pay:

$45,760.00 - $52,000.00 per year
