Senior Interior Designer — Residential Interiors Abide Designs Interiors | Lakewood Ranch / Sarasota, FL Full-Time | Primarily In-Person About Abide Designs Interiors Abide Designs Interiors is a growing, full-service residential interior design firm serving Lakewood Ranch, Sarasota, and surrounding areas. Our work is elevated yet approachable—layered, livable spaces designed around how our clients truly live. As our firm continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Senior Interior Designer who can confidently lead residential projects, collaborate with our Principal Designer and design team, and help us deliver an exceptional client experience from concept through installation. The Role This is a hands-on senior design position for someone who is both highly creative and highly capable of moving a project forward independently. We are looking for a designer who can take ownership of significant portions of a project—from initial design direction and space planning through selections, documentation, client presentations, construction coordination, procurement and installation. The ideal candidate doesn't need constant direction to determine the next step. They are comfortable making decisions, solving problems, communicating with clients and trades, and keeping a project moving while knowing when collaboration or Principal Designer input is needed. As Abide continues to grow, this position also offers the opportunity to take on increased project and design leadership within the firm. Responsibilities Lead and support full-service residential design projects from concept through completion Develop space plans, furniture plans, finish selections, lighting and plumbing selections, cabinetry and millwork concepts Create polished client presentations and comprehensive design documentation Produce and/or oversee drawings, specifications and project details Source furnishings, fabrics, artwork, accessories and custom pieces Confidently present design concepts and recommendations to clients Serve as a key client contact throughout the design process Coordinate with builders, architects, contractors, trades and vendors Anticipate project needs, identify potential issues and proactively develop solutions Collaborate with our operations and procurement team to ensure selections, specifications, purchasing information and project details are organized and accurate Participate in site visits, installations and styling Manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines simultaneously Help mentor and support other members of the design team Protect and elevate the Abide aesthetic while bringing your own experience and design perspective to the firm What We're Looking For 5+ years of professional residential interior design experience preferred , with demonstrated ability to independently manage significant portions of a project Experience with high-end residential interiors, renovations and/or new construction Strong space planning and technical design skills Working knowledge of construction, cabinetry, millwork, finishes, lighting, plumbing and furnishings Excellent sourcing and specification skills Ability to translate a creative vision into an organized, executable design Comfortable presenting to and communicating directly with clients Experience collaborating with builders, architects, contractors and trades Highly organized with excellent follow-through and attention to detail Able to balance creativity with budgets, timelines and real-world project constraints Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to take initiative Professional, warm and confident communication style Collaborative and comfortable working within a growing boutique firm Software & Technical Experience Experience with professional design and project-management platforms is important. Familiarity with programs such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Studio Designer, Houzz Pro, ClickUp, Canva or comparable platforms is a plus. We care more about strong design ability, technical knowledge, project leadership and the ability to learn our systems than experience with one specific software platform. Why Join Abide? Compensation & Growth Compensation will be commensurate with experience, technical capabilities and the level of project leadership the candidate is prepared to assume. We are open to considering candidates at different levels within the senior designer range and will structure the compensation package accordingly. This position requires regular in-person collaboration as well as client meetings, site visits and installations throughout the Sarasota/Lakewood Ranch area. Some flexibility for focused design work outside the studio may be available depending on the candidate, project needs and responsibilities.

Pay:

$65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
