Junior Interior Designer JM Hospitality Solutions - 3.5 Morrisville, NC Job Details Full-time From $18 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Space allocation Teamwork Architecture Interior Design Revit Attention to detail Building information modeling (BIM) tools 3D modeling for architectural design Full Job Description Our drawings become hotel interiors. Yours would too. This is a first job out of an interior design or architecture program for someone who wants to work on real projects immediately — not spend two years updating title blocks. In your first year you will model as-built conditions in Revit, produce drawing sets that go to Marriott, Hilton, and IHG for brand approval, and spec the furniture that gets manufactured and installed in a hotel you can walk into. JMHS handles interior design, procurement, and manufacturing for hospitality clients across the country. That means the drawings you produce do not stop at a rendering — they become purchase orders, shop drawings, and freight. You will see the whole chain, which is the fastest way to learn what a good drawing set actually is. What you would actually do Model existing hotel conditions in Revit and draft the plans, RCPs, elevations, finish plans, and millwork sheets that make up an ID set Build the room matrix and FF&E schedules that Estimating prices from and Procurement orders against Spec furniture, finishes, lighting, and fabrics — and learn quickly why one wrong tag on one line item becomes a five-figure problem eight weeks later Assemble concept boards, material palettes, and presentation material for client approval meetings Run your own work through our QA/QC checklist before it goes to review, and clear brand submittals with the design team How the first year works We train against a written SOP, not by osmosis. Your first month is intake work and learning how a JMHS set is built. By month three you are producing drawing types on live projects. By month six you own sections of a spec book. By the end of year one you are carrying a full scope area and sitting in on procurement handoffs. Advancement to Interior Designer follows competency, not a calendar. You will get real review on real deadlines. Direction and correction are the job at this stage — nobody expects you to arrive finished. What you need A degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field — CIDA-accredited preferred Revit and AutoCAD at academic or internship level; you will be in both every day A portfolio showing space planning, drawing production, and material and finish selection Genuine attention to detail — dimensions, tags, and quantities are the whole job, and they are unforgiving The ability to take direction, apply it, and not need to be told twice What you do not need Hospitality experience — most people learn brand standards here, not in school Design Spec, Monday.com, Adobe Acrobat, Canva, or Mattoboard — we train on all of them NCIDQ — this role builds qualifying supervised experience toward it, and we will support you when you are ready to sit The details On-site in Morrisville, NC (27560).
