Onsite | Berkeley Heights, NJ Our client, a boutique commercial interior design studio, seeks a Senior Interior Designer to join their design leadership team in-studio. Compensation:
$120,000 base salary + performance-based bonus opportunities Health, dental, and vision insurance benefits 401k + company matching Paid Time Off Free lunch on Wednesdays + free breakfast on Thursdays Free access to top-tier gym and cafe A Day in the Life of the Senior Interior Designer You'll lead the creative vision on a portfolio of commercial interior architecture and workplace design projects, guiding them from first sketch through construction and handover. You'll be the primary design voice for corporate clients, mentor junior and intermediate designers, and help shape sustainable, forward-thinking spaces that bring your client's brand to life.
Responsibilities include:
Leading the creative vision for a diverse portfolio of interior architecture and workplace design projects, establishing design concepts, spatial strategies, and material narratives Acting as the primary design voice and trusted advisor to corporate clients, translating business objectives and brand identity into physical spaces Mentoring and elevating junior and intermediate designers, fostering continuous learning and technical growth Overseeing the translation of concepts into design development (DD) and construction documentation (CD) packages, working closely with technical teams and outside consultants Driving selection and curation of FF&E, color palettes, material specifications, and custom detailing Partnering with studio leadership on design methodology, select business development pursuits, and brand-building Weaving sustainable design practices and environmental wellness principles into every project Work hours: 8AM - 4
PM Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field 8+ years of workplace design/commercial interior design experience Advanced skills in Revit, AutoCAD, Enscape, SketchUp, and/or Bluebeam Hands-on design work on live projects 3+ years of mentorship experience to keep working standards high Ability to present and sell a design concept directly to a client Strong communication skills, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a genuine passion for collaboration About the
