Responsibilities Develop comprehensive interior design concepts for residential projects, including space planning, color schemes, lighting, furniture selection, and material finishes. Create detailed drawings and construction documentation using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Bluebeam to communicate design intent clearly. Produce high-quality 3D models and renderings with tools like 3ds Max, Rhinoceros 3D, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Creative Suite to visualize concepts for clients. Conduct building code analysis to ensure all designs meet local building regulations and safety standards. Manage entire design projects by coordinating with clients, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to meet project timelines and budgets. Prepare detailed construction documents including specifications, drawings for renovation or remodeling projects, and construction detail documentation. Present design proposals confidently using CAD presentations and graphic design software to articulate ideas effectively. Oversee the procurement of lighting fixtures and furnishings while providing expert lighting design advice to optimize ambiance and functionality. Collaborate on remodeling projects by integrating client needs with technical requirements such as building information modeling (BIM) tools for efficient project delivery. Ensure all designs adhere to building code compliance standards while maintaining aesthetic appeal; manage revisions as needed based on client feedback or regulatory updates. Qualifications Proven experience in interior design with a strong portfolio showcasing residential interior projects. Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Bluebeam; experience with 3ds Max, Rhinoceros 3D, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Creative Suite is highly desirable. Solid understanding of drafting techniques, construction detail documentation, and building code analysis. Skilled in 3D modeling for architectural design and rendering to create realistic visualizations for clients. Knowledge of building information modeling (BIM) tools and their application in managing complex projects efficiently. Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining quality standards. Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with team members. Experience in lighting sales or lighting design is a plus; familiarity with renovation or remodeling processes is highly valued. Background in construction or renovation projects with an understanding of contracts, budgeting, and managing construction details.
