Design Coordinator Location:

Sevierville, TN with travel to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Knoxville expected. Position Summary The Design Assistant supports interior design efforts across Compass Ventures' residential and commercial properties. This role assists in selecting furnishings, finishes, layouts, and decor that create inviting, guest-ready environments designed to maximize comfort, functionality, and booking appeal managing idea-to-finished logistics. Working closely with the design and property teams, the Design Assistant helps translate design concepts into finished spaces, sources and coordinates furniture and decor vendors, and ensures each property reflects a consistent, polished aesthetic that supports Compass Ventures' brand and guest-experience standards across the portfolio. Key Responsibilities Assist Director and Architect in executing interior design concepts and layouts for residential and commercial properties, with an emphasis on short-term rental units Source, select, and coordinate furniture, fixtures, decor, and finishes that align with each property's brand and target guest experience Track design budgets and purchase orders for each property project Support space planning and furniture layout to maximize functionality, comfort, and visual appeal within each unit Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and movers on the delivery, assembly, and installation of furnishings and decor Conduct property walkthroughs to assess design needs, condition, and refresh opportunities Maintain a library of design standards, mood boards, and product sourcing resources for consistency across the portfolio Assist with styling and staging properties for photography and listing launches Support timely turnover of design projects to meet property opening or relisting deadlines Qualifications 1-2+ years of experience in interior design, home staging, or short-term rental/hospitality design; internship experience considered Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace required. Experience with design tools a plus (e.g., SketchUp,AutoCAD, Canva, or similar) Strong eye for detail, aesthetics, and brand consistency Familiarity with short-term rental or hospitality design standards a plus Ability to manage multiple property projects and vendors simultaneously Comfortable with local travel to properties for walkthroughs, installs, and styling
