Job Description
Duties:
- Provide interpretation services between English and Spanish speakers in various settings, such as medical appointments, legal proceedings, business meetings, and social services.
- Ensure accurate and complete interpretation by actively listening to the speaker and conveying the message in the target language.
- Maintain confidentiality and impartiality while interpreting sensitive information.
- Clarify any cultural or linguistic misunderstandings that may arise during the interpretation process.
- Adhere to professional standards and ethical guidelines for interpreters.
Experience:
- Fluency in both English and Spanish languages, with excellent verbal communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of grammar, vocabulary, and idiomatic expressions in both languages.
- Previous experience as an interpreter or related field is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with medical, legal, or business terminology is a plus.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations effectively.
- Excellent listening skills and the ability to quickly comprehend spoken language.
- Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
