Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Put your expertise in sign language interpretation to work supporting students in an educational environment. As a Sign Language Interpreter, you'll be making a direct impact by facilitating communication for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, and collaborating with educational teams to foster inclusion and accessibility. This contract opportunity spans from ASAP through May 27th, 2027, providing both immediate placement and long-term consistency.
Key Details:
1:1 interpreting position, serving a designated student onsite only Split schedule: Part time at Alliance Academy and part time as a floating interpreter within the district Full-time hours for the duration of the school year
Qualifications:
Valid Georgia DOE Sign Language Interpreter License (mandatory; HR waivers not accepted) Demonstrated proficiency as a certified sign language interpreter, ideally with school-based experience Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a student-focused educational team Reliability, adaptability, and professionalism in dynamic school settings
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct interpretation for a student in classroom and school activities, ensuring clear and accurate communication Support the student's integration and participation in both academic and social settings Collaborate with teachers, staff, and family members to best meet the student's communication needs Maintain confidentiality and compliance with district policies and applicable law This role offers a unique opportunity to establish lasting connections with students and educators, while building your professional experience across diverse educational environments.
